Strange as it may seem, that's true. Maybe they'll have them for next winter.
I didn't need one (and I don't have anywhere to plug in anyway). My car started every day. It wasn't a real cold winter, but there were some mornings <= -25C.
Some people have mentioned some kind of not-quite-block heater, but I don't know how they worked out.

It does not come with a block heater, and Mazda (anywhere, not just Mazda Canada) does not offer one yet.
Several people installed a stick-on oil pan heater - do a search for 'oil pan heater' or similar and you should find the threads where they were discussed.

Gordon

I looked into this a while back and apparently there won't be one made. The heat in the engine from a block heater supposedly screws up the cold start fuel maps. I read somewhere that if you install one of the third party block heaters available that it will actually void the engine warranty, can anyone confirm this?
