Calgary and Area meet

ah gotcha, hadn't looked at the FAQ that was linked so my bad for assuming lol
I was thinking of taking mine into Kramer for a check up as i don't live far from there and i still have the warranty on the engine from the extension.
nice 14 is a decent turn out, considering weather, time of year etc, should be fun regardless

No worries dude. The stock break-in period is 1k km under 4k rpm, and there are plenty of different opinions on how to go about things. I figure I'll aim for the longest break-in period, and probably give up half way, instead of going for the easiest and still giving up half way :P
If you take it into Kramer, avoid Lisa like the plague. She is my service advisor, and has caused me nothing but headaches and confusion. She doesn't understand how our rides work, and she blames almost every issue on the owner. Having issues with DSC/TCS on dry roads, after coming out of a corner, and she says its due to my car slipping on ice and me pushing the gas too hard and getting wheelspin. When you go in, talk to Alex (normally the desk on the right), and mention that you've got an RX8. He doesn't know them that well just yet, but he is great, and he'll take care of you.
And yeah, 14 is pretty good, especially if people are bringing friends. And considering the calgary portion of the club had all but disappeared this past year, this'll be a great turnout :D

Sick dude. After I take a look, I may have to copy you :P Although I'm looking to snag another set this summer, so I don't have to get my tires remounted all of the time. Looking forward to seeing it (and obviously meeting you too XD )

Guys I have bad news so me and my friend and his brother were putting my summer tires on and in the process of taking off my winters one of the fricken bolts broke in half making it impossible to remove the other half of the bolt......I'm going to kill myself so I'm taking it into kal tire tommorrow and am praying they get it fixed before saturday.......Or I will cry.....

did it brake or did it strip? if it broke just pound the stud out with a hammer and get a new stud and nut from mazda ( should be under 10$) and suck it in, just make sure its bottomed out and is flush with the back of the flange. should look like this on the back of the hub
hope this helps

its gonna snow tomorrow and friday but its gonna be all gone by saturday becasue its to warm for the snow to accumulate and CE28N you should really come to the meeting
#64
I'm coming barring a full-on blizzard. My only debate is whether to put the summers on or not. Every time I a corner, I cringe because I can almost feel my winter tires being shredded.
#66
yea doesn't look to good on the weather network either, 10cm tonight, but i'll wait till Saturday and see what it's like, i'm sure we all know by now that Alberta's weather isn't decided by the weather man haha.
#67
yeah im coming no matter what the weather is like on saturday. Im gonna keep my winters for the next 2 weeks so i should be ok! you guys should do it too, remember that you live in calgary.. lol
#69
little off topic but since were all from the area does anyone know if there's anywhere around here that sells shift boots? or if i should just get one online? looking for red leather or red/black leather

What's the time of the meet? The major roads will likely be OK on Sat even if there's 15cm, but can't say the same for the smaller ones so I think keeping winters on throughout Apr is a good idea.

Yeah ... I just checked the weather again and it changed from
Yesterday - snow on Wed/Thur sunny Friday+
Today - snow this entire god damn week ...
I only have stock r3 and no winters so if the snow doesn't melt I'm screwed and I won't be able to go ...

The meet is at 1 pm by sportcheck
and dont worry guys you'll be fine I highly doubt that any of the snow that falls will stick its just to warm and saturday is supposed to be mainly sunny so if anything the roads will be a little wet so i expect to see you all there barring a full blown blizzard (Azzuro I'm gunna throw you a shout out for the last sentence hahahahaha)

Same here. If the snow in my back alley doesn't melt by Sat then I will have to miss this one.
Slightly off topic... I need to take my car in for servicing ( regular major service), but last time I went to NorthLand they said my car is too low so they couldn't get it on the hoist. Anyone know where I can take my car to for future servicing?
