Boy I can't wait until we all get our cars! It will be cool to meet together in our respective cities.

...:( can't add poll
aww... my moderating powers won't let me modify the thread enough to add a poll... i think i can only edit a poll which has been started...
anyways, Andrew Keech here from GVA BC...
Quick, it's interesting where you live, 'cause i used to live in Burlington when i was a child, and a lot of my family lives around the Hamilton area... my grandparents used to live in Dundass, not too far from McMaster (<- which is kind of the family school... Grandpa was a prof there, and most of my aunts and uncles on that side gradded from there)

Talking about meeting in our respective cities, are there any other RX-8 owners in the Durham region. So far, it looks like there's only Ron Jeremy and myself.
Might be worth it to set up a GTA meet somewhere seeing there's only a small number of us in Durham....

St. John's, Nfld here - Titanium Grey GT 6 spd w/ black and chapparal leather.
Until last week I was the only person outside the dealership to have an 8 in Newfoundland (the dealership owner will drive a demo, unknown color/options). There is now a second owner in NL (a guy in Bay Roberts - about 1.5 hrs outside St. J) - Winning Blue, Automatic I believe.

Broose: Can we even order accessories now? My dealer didn't seem to know how at this point. Also...it is even possible to get a volume discount?
I'd go in on a group order if it saves cash for sure.
Rotorian: Burlington Mazda is where I ordered from.
Having said all of this, I still have no idea when I'm getting my car, despite now being "3rd" on the list. Dealer still has no idea when it is coming.

Deep Blue, I ordered my car from Mountain Mazda in Hamilton. I have dealt with the General Manager for everything (no salesperson involved). I mentioned to him about getting a discount on accessories if I could organize a group buy. He asked me to put something together and present it to him.
Send me an e-mail offline with what accessories you are interested in and I'll start a list.
Any others people in Ontario interested in joining in to see what can be accomplished?

FritzMan - Ottawa, Ontario. Actually, I live in Carsonby which is between North Gower and Manotick. First on local dealership's list for a red GT, no moonroof or NAV.
Drove/lapped/autox'd an FD for 6 years. Modified the hell out of it and eventually ran a 12.8 @114MPH on street tires and gas on my first every trip to 1/4 mile track (2nd run). Though that was impressive until the guy who bought my FD converted it to single turbo, TEC, and has pushed over 400 RWHP on the dyno...
This 8 will stay normally aspirated though, but will see some local AutoX duties.

I am in Brampton (for now) but I work in Toronto and I intend to return to Toronto soon.
I drive a 2k Jetta VR6 but I am looking to replace it with either the RX-8 or the Sti. I am on this forum to get more info and decide if this is the car for me. I am a bit worried about reliability and performance. Availability is the big issue now.
