$190 a month, never got a ticket or been in an accident. This price is from Allstate. Would be ~250 more every 6 months if I didn't get the G.S discount.

500/mo is outrageous! How can you even afford that? I pay 260/mo, but I've had an accident when I had my BC "N" license, almost 6 years ago now. Every place I called was around the 260 mark for me.

That is way too much. Try getting a quote from Belair Direct. They were the cheapest when I was 18 and still are the cheapest at 23. All other companies were outrageous when I was 18 too.

In Ontario a G license is when you have your full license. I'm assuming the OP has a G2 (can't drive with any alcohol and has to ensure all passengers have seat belts on) which is the license after the G1 (need to drive with a 4 year G licensed passenger).

Don't know what N is.

"N" license is only in British Columbia. The licensing system there goes:
"L" (Learners), and basically you can only drive with someone age 25+ with a valid driver's (no driving alone), can't drive at night, no alcohol. This is required for 1 year.

Then you get to take an actual driver's test for the "N" (Novice). This is kind of like a full license but you can only have 1 passenger unless accompanied by someone age 25+ with a valid driver's, no alcohol. This is required for 2 years.

You then get to take a final driver's test for your Class 5, your full license. Also, for the "L" and "N" licenses you are required to display a corresponding sign on the back of the vehicle. Usually they give you these nice big magnets with the letters on them in red for L and green for N. You can get a fine if you're pulled over with out them on too! Hurray BC licensing system.

Well I just got my G2 license in november 2008 and I'm 22. As far as tickets go I got a ticket for going through a red light when I was 20 on bicycle and I didn't have any type of drivers license at that time so I just Paid off the ticket. So when I got my license and called around for a quote guess what that stupid redlight infraction on my bicycle stayed on my record so TD was the cheapest I could get. Well my insurance expires in November hopefully I can find something cheaper this insurance is killing me 500 plus car payments damn lol.

you dont have to wait to shop around for insurance. You can cancel any time...you just have to give maybe 30 days notice.

$500 is too much. I'm paying $199/month and all my friends say that's too much. With CAA Insurance. I will get quotes from others and get it reduced

I'm at 280/ month. $500!?? dude TD insurance offered me that too when I shopped around. Belair gave me $300, then it was dropped to $280/month because I drove with winter tires in the winter :D

Yes that is true, I got a different quote when i gave them my new address just down the road!

So I can see highly populated areas being alot more.

and that's why people should stop comparing premiums :-P
Best bet is to call a few brokers and find the best price and coverage that suits you.
