When was the last time you started it successfully ? Has it been sitting for a while ? Where are you located ? Has it been really cold ?

It's a 90% chance it's flooded. Do you know whether your car has had all the latest reflashes performed? With the computer up to current settings and a properly charged battery the likelihood of this re-occurring is slim. If you search this forum and your owner's manual you will find some good methods for de-flooding so you can avoid the trip to the dealer. Best of luck and hope it all get's resolved quickly.
Paul.
PS, If you do get it started on your own, make sure you still make an appointment with your dealer so that they are aware of what happened and can change your oil in case any fuel dilution has taken place or to replace your sparkplugs (Possibly with a hotter heat range).

Did you try the de-flood procedure? I believe it's to hold down the accelerator and try to crank start the the car. It takes something like 10 or so before it begins (or so I'm told). Apparently lots of nasty smoke will come from your exhaust.

Have you tried the technical de-flooding procedure that's on the board?

I had done all of the recommended procedures, and finally had to have it towed. I was really annoyed with the dealership here in London. I had it towed at 8am monday morning and they told me to pick it up at 415 that afternoon. So I go down to the dealership straight from class and they till me it will be another 30 minutes. No problem. Then they try to tell me my velocity red rx8 is actually a black tribute. They mixed **** up and hadnt even touched my car all day. So I go home. The next day they call me at 4 and say its ready, but when i get there at 430 it somehow wasnt work. I waited till 6 before I finally got my car back.

Sorry about the rant, but I cant stand probart mazda

the curse doesn't apply to starting...only to damage.

It was flooded and the deflooding procedure didnt work. They fully replaced my spark plugs, I guess letting them dry out didnt do the trick.
