Car wont start! RX-8 04
So i had my dad move the car in the garage on a cold day but he said he warmed it up for at least 3 minutes before moving it and turning it off.
When i try to start the car it just cranks and i can see the interior lights flickering with each crank. I thought maybe the battery was dead but i charged it and it reads 12.67V
I know i my air pump was making squealing noises previous so it could be that?
The engine could also be flooded? How can i tell? I don't smell much fumes when i'm cranking the car.
Any help would be appreciated

He flooded it..
if it is a MT...save yourself hours of grief..and put in the front hook..and get a buddy ( or your Dad ) to tow you for about half a block...carefully let out the clutch with the key on...and it should start in about 30 feet
Be prepared for a smoke show...drive it for a while to clean out the fuel and you are good to go

Check your car to see if it has the updated starter/battery. There was a TSB on that and it's done free of charge.
3 minutes time... it's not about time because that could vary depending how cold it is where you parked. He needs to read the temp gauge and make sure it passes the two large lines at the beginning first. If absolutely can't, do the cold shut down procedure.
Also sometimes necessary, just drive it once around the residential block and your engine should be warmed up. Putting it on load warms faster obviously.

wait... how do we get the updated starter? I phoned my local dealership and they told me all the recalls have been done on my car and there was nothing about an updated starter. Where do I look for this and what do I tell the service department to get this done free of charge?
p.s - sorry for the thread jack

You can't get an updated starter as its not part of the recalls...but if you identify you're have problems starting your 8 and the problem lies in the starter AND its under warranty then you'll get the updated, stronger starter...
I know ppl on this forum that has no issues with the 04-05 starter even tho its a bit weaker

Ok so i finally fixed it with the help of my friend Ally..yes..a girl..and Andrews advice.
The issue was a mix of both flooding and battery dying.
I had to go out and buy a new battery and then take out the fuel injector fuse + unplug the air pump
I cranked the engine for 6 seconds and let it rest for 5 about 5 times and could smell pure gasoline coming out.
I then put the fuse back in and plugged in the air pump and then hope for the best and started cranking. I could hear the engine start to roll over and i started giving it gas (Thanks Andrew). My car was in the garage with the *** hanging out and my entire garage was hot boxed in smoke. I had to rev it at 2 for about 30 seconds and then it idled fine.
Moral of the story...don't let your dad drive your car
