FABI is fantastic!
I just came back from one track session on Sunday this weekend, and its even faster than Nelson.
The double apex from turn 6 to 7 is fun...and turn 3 hairpin is hard ***...then the last harpin before back straight is always tricky.
MC8Jai's Aurora Blue R3 was there with me as well...and I lose focused for one second checking him in my back mirror and nearly screwed up lol - lesson learned. NEVER look at your back RIGHT before any braking zone!!!!
I swear I just took 0.5 second to look and I missed the braking zone @ 140km/h....fooking scary.
But its so much fun ...

RXeckless - IMO newbies should first go around with someone before they get in their own car! I HIGHLY stress that! Even if it's only 3-5 laps. Then switch. For the newbies cars, could do scotch tape of a triangle on their window so ppl know who to be even more cautious around.
Rain is actually fun to race it...and scary, but no R1s so bring on the sun!
Foot it looks like we have a spot for you as Mazda_RX804 has no cash. 1 down and not looking good for JDK either.

Cool with newbies in other driver's car, either way. I think the green tape triangle is a good idea I just didn't want to single them out but for safety reasons it's in.

^he way over corrected...if you get out of control, look and steer to where you want the car to go, don't keep winding the wheel or you will do what he did, take your foot off the gas, and with the DCS our cars will hold on.

True, the 2nd one got a lot of mid turn correction...but the lines are pretty much it (maybe not turn 4-5).
At least thats the line I took yesterday and I don't need to wave any S2000s by me except one... =)

^ that looks wicked. I was planning to build one of those as part of my car PC build this winter but if anyone has a heads up on some good software it would save me a lot of work.

You can ask the guy in the Australia forum (takarx8 I think?)...he was pretty active. Not sure now since he got his 135i..
He is using Racechrono ...?

@ post 105:
On the first video, he looses it with no chances of correction and still tries to correct. This is dangerous, Shannonville ain't Mosport, you got lots of run off, it is better to go off with the wheels pointing in the direction of the travel then try saving it in that situation and end up flipping the car or throwing the car back on the track and being hit by whoever is following you. Worst case scenario you break a spring or damage some suspension component, the alternative is allot worse - writing of your car.
Also, while have only been to Shannoville a few times from what I remember you should carry a little bit of braking into that corner (trail braking, at least in our car).
In the second video, notice how Gueilrmo is using the entire track. One of the most common mistake novices make is not using the entire track, as many people say: you paid for it, use it.

I usually worry more about the "experts" than the newbies...
Last time I was there was on the bike and the grassy area beyond the front straight had more potmarks than the moon - we knew we couldn't "ride it out" and I can easily see a car flipping there if it exits just right.
I'll be taking my 13 year son so nothing aggressive for me - 12 cars = lots of space. Life Footman, I'm on original skins plus brakes, I figure this will be their last stand and grip will be less than 100%.
Still, looking forward to it!

yes, I am on 3 / 32" tread life STOCK summers, and also STOCK pads that are about 30 - 40% life left. I plan to finish them off both this year..
2011 -->
1) Hawk Ceramic pads + SS brake lines + Racingbrake slotted rotors
2) Advan RS-D rims + Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions/Hankook Ventus EvoK12

I'll be cruising around with you too. The Subie in stock form is tough car to drive smoothly. It is the polar opposite to the RX-8. It likes to be manhandled

Starting the list:
Location: Kennedy Common's
Time: 3:00pm (giving us 3 hours of buffer time)
1. 2hit6
2. rx8-druggist
3. maffu313
4. rotary/boxer mike
5. footman
Can we make a stop at UT Scarborough campus? Need to pick up Margaret. It's along the way, just exit Morningside.

*** rain!!! I have been waiting too long for this and to run my R1s yet again. Prob only one I'm doing this year....so pissed.
I'm past Kennedy commons and with traffic you guys are gonna be pushing it.
Least it's at 5:30 now instead of 5. I'm leaving around 2 from Ajax...and trust me there is traffic at 2 on Fridays, with rain it will be worse.
