If it's one/two rims I'll grab it for you, I'm definitely dropping by late Saturday as the wf is out of town. Have you already paid nate?

How much those cost total? (2 ton jack, impact gun, torque wrench.....)

btw, remember to bring gloves to take off the wheels after the track day's over...it will be very "warm"....

It's just 1 rim, and nate was cool enough to just give it to me as it's cracked

Thanks!

The first hour will be 15 minutes on -15 minutes off so everyone gets enough session time in the first hour, after that just go when the opportunity arises.

Everyone with any track experience will have marshal the pits for say 10 minutes after one of there sessions, I believe this this fair to everyone involved.

All cars will stay in the pits expect for mechanical issues/tire changes. Entering and exit the pits to/from the paddock has the be strictly controlled as it dangerous during a active track with cars from the track pitting and exiting.
We are breaking into groups now for the first hour?
As even Al said earlier in this thread, most ppl will be pitted 60% of the time. It's only 2 ppl difference so a group of 7 shouldn't have to sit.

I suggest...for the first 30 min., first 15 min group Intermediate/Advanced with the newbies riding in the car, the next 15min the people newbies were riding with, now ride in the newbies car newbies driving. So if there are 4 of them, then everyone can be on the track. Everyone will be wary it's the newbie run. After that it's good to go, just make sure 2 cars are always pitted.

Not bad, Only problem is your math there's 16 cars. But it will work!

First 15min =12 Cars with 4 newbie passengers. Newbie cars last in pits.
Newbies/Co-drivers come off switch to own cars with there co-drivers.

Second 15min =12 Cars 4 newbie drivers in there car with there same co-drivers and up to another 8 cars.

After that just keep 4 cars minimum in the pits at all times. This works!

Only one issue is a pit marshal on switch, I'll volunteer to pit at the the switch to get you guys out again.

Now we need 4 or 5 volunteers for the newbies co-drivers:
Not sure if everyone on the list is a newbie, sorry if your not.
1. c_ls /???
2. Spence15 /???
3. rx8-druggist /???
4. thriller /???

well in that case yes you have since i'm not asking anything for it.
how much would a cracked rx8 rim be worth anyways? figure at least $20 in aluminum scrap lol

the only reason i brought up passing in the corners is its very hard to pass on the straights with an rx8 when your passing a car that doesn't want to be passed.
I'm perfectly fine with passing on the straights as long as the slower car yields and aren't dicks about it.

Oh...thought it was 14 my bad.

I don't mind taking someone, but I do have 2 friends coming with me and I feel bad if they have to sit around for the first 30 min. If there aren't enough experienced guys to do so, I can put someone in my car.

With many of the days I have gone out with our club, it has never been a problem, the odd time someone doesn't look, but it is much much safer! It will be fine nate! IF you notice it, or get stuck, just pit and go back on and when you get a chance to tell the person about it do so. In a NICE manner

Simple, the guy in the back if he wants to pass, just flash your lights! The guy the front if he wants to let you pass, signal and move to the side.

No response to the flash means the guy in the front doesn't want to let you pass. No misunderstandings there, it's clear.

Only excuse I could think of is "oh i didn't see you flashing at me"

Flash is a great idea to get their attention, but how soon we forget what it's like to be your first time on a track. Information overload I believe is the correct term, so don't be surprised if someone say "oh i didn't see you flashing at me"

Is everyone cool with the 30 minute format in the above posts. It works so it in!

And I'm sure Thumper and Nate will get some crazy time together on the track!

Also Thumper forgot to mention the straightaway in front of the pits at Fabi is a 1/4 mile, so if all else fails you can always pass there!

Start me in the back. I have no idea how my RX (with a W) is going to interact with the rest of the RX's. I fear I will be a hold up in the corners, then get on peoples *** in the straights.

So start me in the rear until I get a feel for this car on this track. First time with this car on a track, first time at this track. Makes me a partial newb.

I am full of common sense so no worries.

ON THE BACK STRAIGHT, PLEASE DO NOT CHECK YOUR REAR MIRROR FOR HIGH BEAMS AFTER MIDWAY / THE FIRST STOP SIGNS SHOWING CLOSE TO THE END.

You will have a high chance of crash/spin/or both due to lapse of concentration. Ask me how I know. Twice.

Nate I don't think you will loss much time if there are newbies forgetting to let you past...just BEEEEEP them :P (I AM KIDDING.). I agree Thumper/ Reckless suggestion is sufficient...

Keep it simple! And for newbies or whoever NEVER look behind you in a corner, wait till you are straight, take a look and if someone is there signal. EVERYONE should be patient, we are all there for FUN!

That should be the main passing zone! I will be using that and probably one other, simple and SAFE!

I'll be bringing:

Impact Gun (1/2") + 1 spare battery
Torque Stick (80 & 90 ft-lbs)
Torque Wrench (1/2")
Engine Oil (<4L of 5W30)

... oh, and maybe half my toolbox... ROFL
