Clutch Pedal Assembly Warranty Extension Program (SSP 82)
Hey folks,
I just received a notification letter from Mazda Canada stating that the warranty on the clutch pedal assembly has been extended on certain 2004-2009 RX-8's.
Warranty is extended to 8 years, 160,000km and will be replaced free of charge if you are having an issue such as the squeek (I hope that's what my shifting issue is).

Extraordinary Engineering
Toyota.... millions of appliance operators
Mazda RX-8... hundreds of enthusiasts
As for the clutch pedal...
Get the Race Roots reinforcement bracket and you'll never have to worry about the pedal again.
We can do an install meet in the spring.

Very reckless of Mazda to just laugh this off. It could easily blow up in their face and turn into a Toyota gas pedal nightmare. IMO they are still not taking this seriously. This should be a straight up recall. I shouldn't have to argue with some service writer over a doing a TSB for free.

^ You need to call Mazda Canada at 55 Vogell in Richmond Hill and have them update their records that you are the owner for your car's VIN. Then while you are on the phone, ask if your VIN falls within SSP82. They will be able to tell you right away. Then have them send you the documentation as written proof.

I haven't received the letter yet and my clutch is not squeaking, but my dealer called me and insisted on changing the clutch for me... that works for me. i still think it should be a massive recall.

^................NSIDHU...........Then it's probably getting ready to go.
If you do a search you will find the US letter and info has been scanned in and available on this site. Of you all needs to do the same as it MAY read differently.
Here is how the US on reads.
Again..................it's the US version!!!!!!!

It covers the clutch bracket, i was on my way to get it fixed(it did the same squeaking) and it bent in side ways.. But mazda will tow it for free to the dealer of your choice. Took a couple days to get the car back, they will overnight the part. Also you don't need your letter.

Mine does the same sometimes. But when i put lubricant on it, it goes away and comes back once in a while. Also i did take pics of my bracket and showed it on the forum and it was perfectly fine.
Sorry for this question, but would mazda "fix" the bracket even if it has not broken yet ?? Im not too familiar with this warranty procedure.
