AEM looks good and is very loud but costs ~double the RB

I got the K&N Typhoon V2 for the noise and power increase. But then again you get the problem of sucking in air from a hot engine bay.

I'm getting an exhaust now, with that in mind, I wish I got the AEM CAI instead.

It's funny that people still think you get a power increase with a TyphoonV2

Maybe not in Arizona where it's always like 40 degrees celsius lol, but up here in Canada, we have our colder days.

It still sucks in hot air from the engine bay and won't be as efficient as the stock intake.

Even on cold days the engine bay is still hot.

If the K & N typhoon still gets hot air from the engine bay then maybe ill do the AEM. If I do the AEM what are the chances of hitting and sucking in water?

If you install the water sock you should be fine.

However you're in Markham Ontario which means freezing rain and snow.
The water sock will not help with this ...

Ya the winters here suck! Although we had no snow last winter but every year is different and no matter what there will still be freezing rain and some snow every year. Might store the car this winter but its not forsure. Maybe the K & N is the safer bet overall. Its also more affordable.

If you just want noise go get a typhoon.

If you just want performance but no noise go get the full jeebus from Racing beat.

If you just want performance and noise but may get stranded in highway if its freezing rain go get the AEM

If you just want placebo effect of "hey I mod my car" change it to K&N filter and take off the screen in the airbox cover - you do have more noises...

You'll be fine with the Mazdaspeed/AEM through rain, even heavy-*** rain. Just don't drive it through a car wash or drive it in the winter. Oh and avoid big puddles.
