If that law ever passes, every muscle car owner will get the vehicles crushed! As we all know from our favorite movie Fast and the Furious, American muscle race car PWNS rice rockets. As well, all vehicles Mazdaspeed, Nismo, TRD, SRT, etc will get crushed instantly when they get to the dealers lot.

I think it would be true irony if it turns out that Bryant drives a 1970 Charger and he gets his car crushed. Like all the other said, it's just a knee jerk reaction to get voters to see how much he "cares" for the community.

come on guys, I think you guys are blowing out of proportion.

they are targeting people that already have a record.

there is no way the police is going to go around the city and crushing innocent people's cars just because they think it's for street racing.

For every action the police carry out, they need proof.

Oh brother, seen this before

Relax folks, just make sure your car has it's identification number still intact.

Think about it for a sec, this sort of law has been talked about for years, they cry wolf over and over again, until the day that crying wolf doesn't deter street racers, then they'll hit those most likely cases (Folks who have a significant record of traffic violations AND conveniently those driving modified vehicle that falls into this dangerous category)

The government just wants to satisfy the public eye, for now, with the added benefit that they can really screw over some dummy teenager who just doesn't take a hint.

Honestly, drive respectfully on the road (I think speeding with in reason is ok so long as you pass regular non sports car folks at a respectable (+5km) speed). Be kind, and don't give the police any reason to watch for you.

You bought a Mazda RX8 for goodness sakes, the car was designed to have remarkable suspension and brakes. Also, inspiring stance and style on the road. If you wanted a muscle car (that does fast straight lines can't turn and is good at killing people), by a American muscle car.

Your car is in a realm of it's own. Please present our community with perfect spirited driving... as I'm sure you already enjoy.

I've already sent an e-mail to the Attorney General. Getting dangerous drivers off the street is fine, and punishing people who commit crimes is ok, but punishing people because they MIGHT do something is insane.

The biggest problem is the lack of correlation between the driving test and the ability to drive and no lane discipline, each time I come back from Europe I want to shoot myself looking the right lane overtaking.

The problem can be fixed quite simply but as usual they will do nothing about the cause and try to deal with the effect...

Wow, ignorant paranoia running rampant in this thread. It's quite clear most of you lack a basic understanding of Canadian law, and very clear many of you haven't read the laws surrounding the apparent "car crushing".

It amuses me greatly that you can all be so concerned, and yet, I doubt any of the ones screaming foul could name the act which came into effect in May concerning safer roads. I'm even more sure none of you have read it.

Until you understand the situation, STFU, you sound like retarded rednecks.

Knowledge >>> Most of you.

LOL, that's a good one. Tell the cop that you weren't racing, it was just a time attack. =)

This Stupid Michael Bryant (attorney general) should have his head examined this is the same guy who got that Pitbull ban in Ontario, saying how dangerous these dogs are. Well last time i picked up the newspaper mr.bryant i think Toronto has a bigger issue with guns killing people, how come when someone gets shot or killed by a gun we dont hear a peep from this Bryant guy or mcguilty??? But something as petty as pitbulls or trying to differentiate who is a street racer or not i dont think is the real problem. I do agree that street racing is wrong and belongs on the track, i think the big problem is that these stupid idiots that kill people due to racing are getting nothing but a slap on the wrist take those two idiot teenagers that killed the cab driver they are getting house arrest for like 2 years only? and house arrest???? what about the time that the cab drivers fam has to do? If the judge gives out real punishment i bet we will see less street racers......

Cmon mr.bryant do something better with the tax payers money

"We're trying to make aggressive driving as socially unacceptable as drinking and driving," Woolley the Fat Bastard said.

So my taking my sportcar through the gears on a deserted stretch of road is = to some guy driving his car completely wasted.

What a freak'n police state.

I think they should be promoting the purchase of sports cars, since when people do act stupid, and man oh man they do, I'd prefer them to be in a car with good suspension and brakes so I know their not going to plow into me.

Reading the article though, it's doesn't sound like their after our cars. It sounds like they are after the same people we hate most on the streets: Idiots who want to race you on public roads. Most of these idiots are driving cars not meant to survive the speeds they feel they must prove.

I don't know... everytime I drive into Surrey, without fail one cavalier driver wants to provoke me into a race, or worse, another idiot in a family van. These people should be hung. There are places to race your car (provided their family sedan is one of the optional cars found in a video game). Obviously if they can't afford a sports car, they can't afford the cost of going to a track.

I don't know, it's nice they have a way to take a unsafe car from an idiot. Actually..... I'm starting to like the idea more and more. I drive on the streets to you know, just because we're driving sports cars, doesn't give people the right to expect races. I have been on a track, and I tell you I feel so much more safe in my superbly crafted Mazda RX8, then the people driving next to me.

No offense guys. Don't be that idiot, and I KNOW YOUR NOT right? you have a bad day? turn off your radio, and just experience the hummm of the car. You got something no one else has.

I was shock when they double the price of our motorcycle plate they will be at 750$ Next year here in quebec!

But when i saw that news today i was really happy to live here!

I sold my bike to get my 8 (and because we will have a familly soon too... and i'm a little crazy on a bike!) so i'm ok for that.

I think one day something bad is going to happen if it's still going that way!

Revolution my friend, revolution!
