This is only a guess Nate, but you can get somewhat of a small coolant smell if you were to pop the hood(and even not popping it) after a drive. I think as coolant returns to the bottle, it's only natural that some air(containing vapors/smell) will get purged from the bottle via the overflow hose. That may be what she was smelling.............I hope so????????

I hope the sensor fixes Leesha’s problems but there is a possibility that she has a cracked housing.
The reason I feel that my housing was “defective” is that most say cracked housings are caused by going over 4k rpm while the engine are cold. I’ve always waited till my car was warmed before doing so and most engine last over 75 000km.
