Corolla hatin'

Anyone wanna share horror stories with encountering terrible Corolla drivers? It just seems like everytime there is a Corolla, they're slow drivers doing all the wrong things (i.e. driving slow on the left lane)... not merging on the highway AT highway speeds... forcin gme to slam on my brakes.. or in general, just **** poor driving.

I work in Vaughan and live in SCarborough, I avoid the 401/400 combo like the plague cause of all the truckers with faulty brakes, and falling parts, and LARGE PIECES OF ICE coming off their roof at 100 km/h hour in your face.

So I take HWY 7 local home down Warden, then across 14th and down Brimley. It's a hell of a local drive, and today I did I count... during rush hour home, I followed exactly 12 Corollas.. I've spotted more than 30 along the way.

I truly despise Corollas.. most of them are driven by middle-aged men, or chinese women. I'm chinese myself, and I find chinese women, or south-asian women are the worst drivers ever...

Share some stories guys that you've had with horrible Corolla drivers?

I seem to run into the same Corollas!
Do slow unskilled drivers gravitate to the same boring car or does the Corolla just suck capability and enthusiasm out of the people who drive them?

BTW, Footman, are you coming to the D&B meet tomorrow night?

I sold Toyotas for a while. I hate Corolas. I hate most Toyotas in fact. Sold the hell out of them in spite of it. Camrys have horrable suspension. As does the Avalon. About all of the have terrible throttle response. Toyotas are so over rated. They have no personality and are so bland. But, I geuss that is what it takes to sell a lot of cars.

I could come, but I don't have an RX-8... yet... I'm hoping to get one this fall. I drive a white 1997 Honda Civic.

Am I still allowed? I'm sort of new to this forum (been on a few months), and I don't know anybody here. But I read this forum religiously like 10 times a day LOL!

I had a 1998 Civic and it sucked almost as badly as a Corolla!

Of course you can come out!

Edit: What kind of engineering?

Of course it sucked... 1997 year is the last year of the Honda Civic that still featured 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension. So my Civic's front is just like the RX-8 and has double wishbone setup.. 1998+ even today's Honda Civic are all using MacPherson Strut setup in the front. I've driven a 2001 Civic in comparison, and oh man, that car handles like a turd... it just doesn't corner like my 1997 civic can.

It's a joke, cause that newer 2001 Civic had a 1.7L engine, with supposedly 115 HP versus my 106HP, and my 97 CIvic felt faster, revved freer, and cornered faster for sure.

I'm an electrical engineer graduate... Technically I'm not allowed to call myself an engineer in Ontario until I have my PEO, hence I can onyl say I am an E.I.T. (Engineer in training).

If I go tomorrow, I don't know anybody there, aside from I guess you're the friendliest person here then (since you asked me about going)... where can I find you?

BTW, I drive an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, though I do plan to get a manual RX-8. ahahaha laugh all you want for me ratting on Corollas when I drive an automatic Civic

Hey My winter beater is a 95 corolla, i kno i kno you guys are going to flame me for storing my 8 and driving a beater, I agree that toyotas doesnt exactly inspire heart pounding driving exhiliration, you gotta understand that its the drivers that are doing this not the car, add to fact that corollas are the number one choice in econo vehicles for asians and thats where the misperception comes from. I drive my corolla just fine, but my friends are starting to get tired of me saying "i miss my car"

Yep, those corolla drivers need a driving act badly.

They got no repsonse to horn, flashing beams and signal light..

Be aware, especially if you see the color in GOLD / TAN !!!!!!!!!

That's just my experience/feeling with the majority of these cars/drivers
The reasons are the same as the ones from other members posted before me.

You can say you hate "Davut" if you know a lot of ppl called "Davut" and they all **** you off.

Okay, I was generalizing TOO much, I would just stick with hating Corollas and Camrys. And the Lexus "ES300" Camry.

But if you drive an 8 and only use the Toyotas as a beater, you're fine. =)
