Daily Driver + RX8 ... Regarding insurance for summer

Those of you with a daily driver that you drive all year round and store the rx8. Do you guys insure both cars in the summer. I wanted to know if its possible to insure the rx8 only on weekend cause primarily thats the only time ill be driving it. or how you guys go about doing this for the summer.

thanks in advance

When I parked her for the winter in Calgary I would just go to parking insurance and it was super cheap

I insure mine for June, July, August, September. I end up paying insurance on both vehicles and its expensive. which sucks) never heard of weekend or parking insurance.

You can insure it for pleasure driving. Meaning you can't drive it to work but you can drive it on weekdays and weekends and your insurance company will probably limit you to 10-12k km driving for the summer.

I would suggest calling your insurance company, explaining when you will be driving it and seeing what options they can provide you.

Parking insurance is basically just comprehensive coverage. No liability or collision. You can't drive it though. So I would just go to parking in the winter and in the summer add collision and liability back on

When winter rolls around Nov - May, I store the car and call my insurance and just tell them to tag on the parking insurance for the months I am not driving it and the rest of the summer months, double the amount for both car..

Boeuf -Really? I'll have to look into that pleasure driving point and call my insurance provider to see if they offer that.

Yeah man. When I store the car in November I just call insurance and have it covered for fire and theft, then when I decide to take it out in spring I have them put full coverage but for pleasure driving. There's an annual mileage limitation of something like 12k km and I can't drive it to work or use it for business.
For me no problem as I only drive it mainly on the weekends.

There is no such thing as weekend-only coverage.
