Daytime running lights

Hi all...new to this...
Question for all you techies...I believe canadian RX8's come equipped with day time running lights. Should they come on when the car is started and the emergancy brakes is off? (6 speed) my running lights come on only when i turn my light switch to the first position but so do the tail, parking and marker lights. Is this normal?

^^ what darkbrew said

check your high beams. If one of them is blown, then neither of them will turn on as DRL's even if the other still works as [a] high-beam. Took me a month to figure that one out.

I have a faulty drl module. The other day I noticed one of my high beams out so I bought 2 new bulbs. Installed them to find out it still wasn’t turning on still. I tested the volts one was reading a little over 12 with the other just over 10. I then checked all the fuses which were all good. Then I unplugged my drl module and shock it around a little and then was quite pissed that I hate to replace the module. Put everything back together and checked to see if my day running lights were working and they where, then checked the high beams and they were fine as well. So I’m hoping it stays fixed. How much am I looking at if I do need to replace the drl module? Thanks.

Speaking of Daytime running lights, anyone know the bulb code for them? I would like to change them out to some LED's or super whites.
