Hi guys. Just letting y'all know not to go to Mazda of Toronto to get compression test done on your rotary cars. They charged me ~$260 and was not able to perform the correct rotary motor compression test. They could only do a regular motor compression test with the results as follow which, as many of you know, is not applicable to a rotary motor. I went back and requested them to perform the correct test, but they claim they are unable to and refused to provide a refund.
Useless results produced by incorrect test:
Rotor 1: 87 psi/600 KPA @ 1500RPM
Rotor 2: 70 psi/480 KPA @ 1500RPM
The correct rotary compression test would produce results for the three sides of each rotor at cranking RPM.

Smoking turbo yay
The price is a bit too high as well for a compression test in general. I got charged CAN$210 after 12% tax for a proper rotary compression test at my local dealer.
I'd also leave a bad review on Google Maps.

Thanks, guys.
I appreciate all the feedback, guys.
Yes, I contacted Mazda Canada earlier today. The customer service person was sympathetic to my situation, but he'll need to consult his technical manager on how to proceed. The technical manager isn't in today, so I won't hear from them until tomorrow.
I did not think of contacting my credit card company. Great idea, I'll try that too. Hopefully they'll be able to assist, because this took place almost a week ago, and the compression test is merely a portion of the bill.
I also realized $260+13% tax is too much for a compression test, but I was already in there for a couple of recalls, and I thought, at least paying this amount would mean the test is performed by professionals who are familiar with rotary. Well... I was wrong.

The credit card dispute suggestion is a good one. Negative google reviews, BBB complaint, etc. might help too. I can't believe they refused to provide the service you paid for and that they don't see an issue with the service they provided.

I believe mazda orillia did the same to me, but tried to hide it by preforming to test 3 seperate times. So i got six numbers but only 2 for each rotor housing per test also no rpm.... Didnt even bother fighting with them, but was only charged $105 for 1hr labour $200+ is crazy. It should be requird to provide time stamped photo on your invoice things are getting out of hand, seems like this is happening more and more frequently.
