Driver seat gap?

Hey guys,

I'm assuming this thread is for RX8 GT owners, or rather RX8 owners with leather seats.

So, I was cleaning the interior of my car today, when I noticed there was an unusually large gap in my driver seat, as shown in the images below:

The gap is large enough for me to put my hand through to the other side!

When compared to the gap in my passenger seat as shown in the images below, the gap in my driver seat appears to be significantly larger.

So, my question to you guys is:

1) Is this normal?
2) Do any of you experience the same issues?
3) If this is adjustable, how do I adjust it? (I've checked by fiddling with my power seat switches, but none of them work).
4) If this is a problem, will warranty cover it, cuz I have some warranty left.

Thanks guys for your help, and God Bless you all.

Ben.

Are the seat backs tilted to different angles?

It depends on what angle your seat is tilted at. It's normal. You probably made your bottom end very deep that's why.

Ya know, I didn't go try it.....but you sure you just didn't hit the button on the side of the drivers seat that raises and lowers the seat? The passenger seat is power and might look a little different.

Like I said.......I didn't go try it, but that button probably just raises and lowers the bottom part of the seat without moving the back. I'll go see later!

Yeah, I notice whenever I have file folders (marking tests and quizzes) laying on the passenger seat, the folder slips right through into the back. Dont know why I mention it ... just something along the line of seat gaps.

Thanks for all your help guys. Well, I adjust my driver seat-back to be pretty far, so that could be one of the reasons. Also, my seat-bottom-end maybe too low, however, if most of you guys have this issue, then I guess it's quite normal. However, next time when I get a chance to fiddle with my power seats, I'll take a closer look at raising my seat-bottom-end to see if that will fill the gap.

God Bless you guys.

Ben.

Yes sir..............that's what I thought was his issue, I knew that....but I was too lazy to go and really confirm you can make that gap bigger by adjusting. Sometimes while I'm working on that side of the car, I will hit those buttons and not notice and then I'll get in there car when all done.........and I'm like........hell??????
