Eibach Springs - Pro kit
#27
My lowering springs left the front a little higher. You do know the front rests a bit higher stock right? Not much, but it's noticeable when the rear drops a bit. FYI: I don't have Eibach but i have a similar set, 1.4 inch drop on all 4.
I'm thinking this is why the Tein kit has a lower drop in the front over the rear, to level the car.

I think I will need a set of new shocks if my car don't drop more in the coming future...

guys just remember as mentioned before the 8 Sits LOWER in the back especially after you had people sitting in your back seat .......(i never take anyone in the back LOL) the springs and struts sit in more....Plus when you lower the car it sits in even more in the back. As for when the 8 is new, it actually sits the same front and back ....But due to the front wheel well being higher in design it looks like the front wheel has a bigger gap...........
so when i drop my car i think all i will need is get a front set of mazda speed springs.....and leave the back stock since it sits in low....

what al said.
when i did my suspension setup, i did it over two days after work. one day, i put on the front. then drove home. it was raining, and im used to playing in certain areas in the rain. beleive me, lowered front with stock back is dangerous as ****. my car was so tail happy, but it wasnt easy to recover like with all stock stuff. now i have the full package done and handling is very much like stock, just sharper and tighter. dont mix and match. period.

Dropped on Eibachs!
Guys,
First 12 hours of driving with it on... Eibach Pro-kit on Stock shocks
Mazda should have had these stock on the car. The handling is better. The smaller bumps are absorbed and doesn't jar through the chassis like the stock springs did.
However I must say that this is not an independent factor because I changed the eibachs at the same time I changed to my summer tires.
So far loving it, the rear is quite dropped already... the front still needs a little more dropping with settling. Now need to shop for 8.5" rims... for 2010 of course
Thanks to Al and Mazmark for doing this. Mark even touched up my paint calipers. I felt bad so gave him a tip off the record. hehehe

I put the car through 3 hours of grueling stop/go bumper to bumper traffic in GTA over the course of the rest of the day yesterday (DVP shut down)... I must have worked in the suspension pretty good!
There is less rebound, so when it goes over a bump, the spring doesn't stay compressed as long. I guess this is what you call "firm". For example, when I go over a speed bump slowly, it's now faster for the car to go up and down where as before, it floated up, and on the return, it actually recompresses slightly before reverting back to normal. With the eibachs, they do not go beyond normally compressed state.
In engineering/mathematics what I mean to say is the stock springs are like an "underdamped response graph" whereas the Eibach's are "critically damped"

I know this is common fact now, but I just want to rant that: Toronto's roads everywhere are in serious disrepair!!! It's appalling the amount of broken pavement all over the damn city as I drove in North York, Scarborough, Downtown, and Etobicoke all day.

Yeah, I'm waiting for some good weather so I could do my massive 7 hour spring detail before I take pics. The car is settling more in the front, and it pulls to the right under hard stopping and acceleration. It definitely will need an alignment done in a few weeks after it finishes settling.
Joshua, if you want, we can meet up just to shoot the ****... you know I'm in North York now, so closer to you.
