I've probably added 4 litres in 1 year, 27,000 KMs.

And I drive pretty hard.

about 5 or 6 L for me...it's depend how far you travel and how fast you're driving...I have 38000km on it now, it's look to me, the RX8 take a little bit with Hwy driving than City (covering the same distance..)

I just got back from a trip to Onterrible er I mean Ontario (God, who can take that heat and humidity?) did an oil change before I left and I burned a quart getting there (Trans Canada) and and did another oil change while there just for good luck. I burned another quart on the way back (Interstate- USA). Total trip length was 7,910Kms....

not too bad in my estimation!

Your oil comsumption will vary greatly depending on how you drive! The higher you rev, the more oil the computer will inject into the engine. When I drive my 8 i am always shifting around the 7-8000rpm range, so I use more oil than the average driver.

Approx. 3 litres in 13 mos. The last time was in June; it took over 1/2 a litre. My fault, as I hadn't checked the dipstick for between six and eight gas fill -ups. When I shut it down, the fan wouldn't kick off. Hmmm, trouble brewing. Fortunately, there was a Petrocan station a block away and open at a late hour. [I parked far away from the pumps, so as not to block access. Note: ever try to locate the dipstick hole w/o a flashlight in the darkness? Will leave obvious parallels to others- nudge, nudge ]
