faster policing?
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...hub=TopStories
basically, the cop swipes your licence on a PDA, and fills out the rest fast, and it prints out a ticket, and sends the info electronically to headquarters and the courts.
what do you think? good/bad?
personally, i think its good in the sense that some of the tickets will be legible and that the officers will have to spend less time doing the paperwork. plus you wont have to sit around for as long a time being embarassed by everyone honking at you as they pass you stopped on the side of the road.

I think it's a good idea in terms of getting things done efficiently. Bad for people who try to fight tickets based on clerical errors (ie if the cop forgot to write down the location or whatever).
Heh .. kinda of reminds me of a restraunt that i went to .. the waitress would take the order on the PDA and when paying, she would just swipe your card there.

Hmmmm... In my view, this is just a more efficient and faster way of collecting on this form of tax. I'll stop at this before I get too cynical...
Sry, can't help it... Funny how, for some things, governments (whatever the level) can find evermore efficient ways of going about their business while for other things no solutions appears to be in sight...
