my condolences

It says they were trying to possibly overtake someone. Erin centre blvd. from 9th line is a fairly straight road (up to where the accident happened at least) and road conditions don't seem to be a factor. Maybe it was due to on coming traffic/stop sign and the rx8 drive going to fast, who knows...

as someone that has had a major accident earlier in life and now drivers regularly at the track, i feel ultimately it's up to the government to implement a proper skid pad style mandatory driving classes. after all the same skills that keep you from spinning in the snow are the same skills used to stop you sliding off on the track.
This reminds me of a fatal rx8 accident that happened in my area back in 2005. young guy gets car on Monday, dead on Thursday. People need to start thinking of driving as a skill. Just because you buy a professional grade musical instrument doesn't mean you have the skill to play it like a professional. people see a lot of excellent performance driving online and on TV, but really have no idea how much time and dedication it takes to to drive a performance car near its limits.

Unfortunately these days society views any sort of autosport as dangerous and pointless.
Virtually all insurance companies will NOT cover you if you admit to them you take your car to the track once in a while. In Ontario, that pretty much means you're relegated to "facility."
I'm willing to bet that not one person on here has informed their insurance company that they track their car. Of course they don't specifically ask most of the time...
