I did my old car calipers, I got a primer (white) and then painted on top of that. It was either caliper or engine paint, something with extreme high temps. It worked awesome and lasted for years. I didn't spray paint, I painted them. The primer was much thicker and was not a spray. Made painting it that much easier. Again IMO. Whatever you do I'm sure it will be good!

I'm not going to bother until I get the decals, cause I'm gonna do the primer (white) put on decal, paint black, take off decal, so white Rx8 with black caliper. Will match my white Rx8club.com decal on my black windows.

I heard that white lithium grease works well

I got another set of Racing Beat links

Let me know if you're ordering something from them... I might get new bushings

I'm gonna try to get the FD up and running so I can bring it down for the install meet.
Gonna take me a bit of time though. Gotta get the oil changed as well as the spark plugs. And God willing it'll start once I remove the faulty boost controller soldnoid.
If it doesn't co-operate, I'll simply pack things up and head down in the Miata.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Scott, your clunking is probably from the swaybar mounts. When I installed my swaybars I tightened the mounts too much which must have pushed out the grease. After about a month I'd get a very loud clunk from the front when compressing one side of the car, like going up a driveway on an angle.

Like Warren said, white lithium grease will fix the problem. Apply generously and don't overtighten the mounts. I found torque specs for them somewhere here on the forum.

Rev, we going to do footwell lights?
Hrmmm... I'm not sure.. I heard the Dupli-Color is suppose to be alright. A coworker just painted his front calipars with the stuff on the weekend apparently.. checked them out and they look pretty damn good. Just not sure how well the stuff will last on the track with the additional heat. Does the stuff have a temp rating on it?

As Pro's said.. most people around here swear by G2... and apparently there's a place around ?lakeshore? called Performance Improvements that has it. Just not sure if it's in stock or not.

Anyways... I'll be painting them black. And yeah.. I'll go over how to install the footwell lights for this weekend.

^ says that it is good up to 260 degrees C / 500 degrees F.

Footman has some experience with footwell lights, so that should help with install

hrmmm... well.. 500 techincally should cover it... but I've heard of higher temps after the track.. oh well... guess we'll find out then huh?

Oh.. one other thing.. my coworker recommends getting another brush to paint it on... he said the one that comes with it stucks and he spend half his time picking out brush hairs from the paint.

actually... in looking at the crappytire paint and the G2... I think I'm going with the G2. The dupli-color is a mat finish... I want the high gloss which the G2 has in spades.
