First Install Meet of 2009

I am The One!
Yeah, you guys missed alot towards the evening.
The garage was pretty much destroyed after we left. But we got the job done!
I still can't believe how huge those TE's are!
I just got back from trying to install the rear tailights on the Mazda6. And wouldn't you know it? They can't work on the car. I mean, they work fine. But the wiring on the 6 is so screwed up, if it doesn't detect enough resistence, it turns on all the lights in the back. Even the rear center brake light. So lessoned learned. You can't install LED lights on the rear tail lights of the Mazda6.![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I basically wasted cash for the hell of it. Does anyone need 7440 rear tail lights?
Pros,
I took another look to see if I can find those 194 parking lights, and nothing. Somebody had to take them out of my car.![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
What a crazy weekend!

How crazy is that? so who wants to go on a late night run tonight to steel this street sign, for the good of the club. we could chance scotts street into rotary way. haha. im sure after yestarday his neighbors would understand.
chris, whats a 7440? and cant you just use a resistor with the appropriate Ohms to make it work?

Greg,
7440 is the type of bulb the rear tail lights are on the 6. They're the same on my Miata and it should be the same on the 8.
Techincally, yes, if you add the resistor, it should work. However, that's something I'm not going to get into. This is only a 6. I'd understand if I wanted it to work on the 8 or Miata (which by the way, works fine without adding any resistors. Stupid Michigan made Mazda6!)
I can save 1 set as a backup, but there really isn't a need for me to keep the other set.
Anyone interested in buying it off me??

Pros,
Yeah, I tried looking everywhere.
I'm hoping on my way to work, maybe it'll just appear. I did search between the seats and center console. But I swear to you, it's not there.
wcs,
No worries buddy.

Forgot to mention that we came up with a a great solution for the plate on the front. There is a variation on it that I also want to experiment with. I will take some pics as soon as I can.
I took my car out a couple of times today and when walking back to it, I could think is damn, that MS kit is sexy!!!

^ Glad you could make it Chris.
Will measure clearance tomorrow. So far, no problems. Haven't encountered any speed bumps yet. Will report back more after a day or two of more driving

haha.. well... it's worked for others... only difference was that we didn't have a zip tie. When the twist tie snapped as I was twisting it tight I was starting to think that it wouldn't cut it. Zip ties for the win... What did you guys end up using?

WTM - Glad you made it out Al, first meet I have seen ya at. Thx a ton for always looking out for our safety #1 and for going over the safest way to mount wheels without the centering cap. I really appreciate (as I think everyone does) your contribution to our little community.
Canadian Girls DO do it better lol.

Thumper,
I'd come out and give you a hand, i think i've mastered getting that silly metal guard out of the fogs after doing mine and Pros, but this weekend is going to be swamped for me...
If you want to do it the next weekend i should definately be able to give you a hand.
