The magic search button reveals this thread:

Pretty much the same topic
on that note, I usually get 350-375km per 50 liters ... I don't dare go to the 60liters.

huh for comparison on my 1990 240SX I get about 400k off 50 liters on the commute to work, pretty similar if you ask me, but I do like to go WOT any time I can, well I have to becasue the thing is underpowered, on the highway I get about 550.

Right now I would be very very happy to be able to complain about MILEAGE, but alas I just had to part with my baby due to financial concerns . Be happy with any mileage you get, life can be worse. Enjoy this car for what it is: one of the best balanced sports cars i have ever encountered and pay the damn price for enjoying it. Otherwise: Buy a freaking Prius, I hear they're awesome on gas.....

Say it's not so!!! It's hard to let go of the RX8 but to let go of a Velocity Red RX8 is especially hard. I mean I can understand if you drive a Cursed Silver or French Titanium Silver car like KHTM...BUT NOT A RED ONE!!!

That sucks gerhardj! Sorry to hear.
Although it's yet another mileage thread, I guess I'll update on my fuel comsumption.
Was getting 380kms per tank up until the over heat re-call, after that flash I dropped instantly to 320kms per tank (car had 20,000 kms). It stayed that way until I drove past 27,000Kms and my mileage magically went back up to 370kms per tank. Imagine, if it wern't for the latest flash I could be over 400!! No probably not, I'd just drive harder to bring it back down again.
For all you concerned about gas mileage, I asked a guy at work who drives a Hummer H2 what is gas mileage was and he gets about the same as I do....freaky!!

I'm currently getting around 15liters/100km after the newest flash from the heat recall. That's 6.666 km/l. EVIL. I was getting 13liters/100km pre-flash.
I'm usually at 350km by the time I fill up (middle of last peg and E).
Car has 13000km.
I try to drive more conservatively during work days (shifting at 3000rpm) but it doesn't seem to make any huge difference from shifting at 4500rpm with WOT runs up a long hill a few times a week.

Well, I just jumped again since my last post. Tank after the 370kms I got 380Kms and the last tank I got 396 kms. I'm thinking of filling up now since it's down to 97 cents so I won't get this tanks full reading but I just turned 375 Kms and the needle is at the 1/4 tank mark, I could probably break 400kms! I wonder what mileage I could get if I actually shifted below 4500 RPM.
I don't know what's going on, my driving habits haven't changed, something must be happening after 27000 kms. Anyone else past this mileage see a difference like this??

I'm thinking traffic conditions and how far you drive makes a big difference. My commute to work is around 20km in city traffic when rush hour is just beginning. Coming home late at night, I drive faster since there's no traffic so I lose both ways. LOL.
