Gauging Interest: GTA Install Meet 3

Since there will be both you and DarkBrew doing fluids, but he wont be at the meet however, you would need 5 bottles between you. You will both need 2 bottles for sure, and half of the other. We'l use half of the half to run thrhough the tranny after we empty your existing, and then fill her up. I'm gonna check with my guy today, 5 bottles he would just give me a cash deal, and not write up a invoice with taxes. He didnt for me, when I picked up 4 bottles from him. But when I went to pick up 12 from him he did, but then again, thats 12, which was his entire stock at the time.
In terms of hard evidence, pm WCS, hes local. Also ask mysql on the forum, and Jedi54. He was using Royal Purple, then his tranny went kaput, got himself a new tranny and is now using Redline.

Just to give a heads up, they'll be another Miata owner joining us. He's a work collegue who picked up a 2nd Gen Miata.
He's got a few things he wants installed too. Not too crazy. But he wants to check out some of the stuff we'll be installing.
So we're good to start around 10:45-11am?

I have been running RP for a year.. No problems at all. It's noticeably better then the dino-oil that the dealer uses. I don't know where you get the idea that RP is breaking transmissions but I don't believe it. I am sure if you look around you'll find people who have blown transmissions while running Redline as well.
DUDE STAY AWAY from ROYAL PURPLE, it's terrible for the tranny. The tranny requires GL4 fluid, Royal Purple's Maxgear crap which they say works for both tranny and diff is a GL4/GL5 mixture. The GL5 additives will screw your tranny leading to gear whine and then to it's death. A quick search on the forum will reveal how ppl had to get their trannys replaced due to Royal Purple, and CDN dealers are less forgiving ( cept Al, but his hands are tied by Mazda Canada). With your Royal Purple your going to be getting a new tranny, except it's no longer paid for by your warranty. Also you need 1.4 quarts for diff fluid, and 1.8 to 1.9 quarts of tranny fluid, it's works out to three bottles, two bottles and a bit.
Anyway that's my two cents, trying to recommend the best foe your car, but on the end it's still your car, so your call. PM WCS, local guy from Orangeville about his horrors with Royal Purple.

Issues after install:
- CEL still there. Cobb still reads P0103 - MAF sensor input high.
- DSC warning light still on.
- Engine "flutters" during acceleration. Doesn't seem to happen when WOT.
- If left idling, car will stall after a minute or less.
I'm gonna clean the MAF sensor and see if there's any improvement. May have to do a battery reset as well.

Thanks for all the help guys. I apologize for leaving so early. It looked like you guys had another 3-4hrs of work, easy.
The rear body roll is gone. The car rides better now. Amazing what the rear bar has done. The car doesn't shutter as much when you go over huge ruts or pot holes. It's funny to watch the front end try to roll while the rear tries to compensate as much as possible.
The horn is fantastic. I'm no longer ashmed to use it. I think I'll order one for the FD. I think I'll ask for one for Christmas.
My next service interval is coming up quick. I"m only 1k away. I'll tell them to install the front bar while they're doing the oil change.
Thief,
I've got your glasses. The next time we meet I'll give them to you.
Agent008,
I'm going to give you a call later on in the day. I think I'll be able to swing by and pick up my watch.
So the next major thing I'll be saving for are the Mazdaspeed springs and hopefully the Mazdaspeed bumpers/side skirts.
Pros,
Let me know when you get the parts in. We'll meet up. Hopefully you'll be able to get it before you go to the cottage.
Thanks again for everyhting guys!

Thief,
Things you should do right away
1) ECU flash to latest revision
2) don't touch the COBB yet
3) battery reset
4) clean MAF sensor
remember I did the battery reset once, and then left the car idling for a good 10 minutes. It never stalled there.
The ECU needs to re-learn the AFR ratios with the MAF. It needs to be driven at various speeds for several minutes.

Well, I attempted to install the rear sway bar today.. But the driver side nut was so tight that I ended up stripping the allan key hole from the end-link. Now I need a new end-link.

Nothing ever goes the way you plan it! Sucks to hear.
The sway bars are harder than anyone thinks. There's nothing too the part itself, it's getting the bloody thing installed that's the problem.
I'm going to call up Mazda later today to schedule my 16000km service. I'll get them to install the front sway bar while they're at it.

I did comment on that very same day after the install while I was revving the engine in neutral with no load and on jack stands, just at low rpms like 2000 - 3000rpm, there is popping fluttering sound. Someone then dispelled that saying that is how the Greddy SP2 is like?
It didn't sound right to me.
