getting so worried
after reading a lot threads about people replaced their motors and something like that, i am getting so worried about my 8. This is just my daily ride, i dont frequently go higher RPM so its kinda hard to tell if there is actually a power failure; Has any of you guys in calgary ever worried about your 8s...????

Relax man.
Do you know how many people own an RX8 and don't even know this forum exists? Do you know how many forum members there are that never have problems?
The answer to both those questions is "the vast majority".
My point is that most people start a thread because they have a problem, very rarely is a thread started to say "I drove home from work today with absolutely no problem". So when you browse a forum like this you are going to see a lot more people with problems with their 8s than is actually occurring in the real world.
Enjoy you car, relax, and if the time comes that you actually do have a problem you can be confident that there will be people here that will and can help you out.

I worry about it more often than not.
Recently my recent engine foibles.. other than that, its just my luck.
I havent had much luck with cars, when they crap out its huge... every time the mechanic tells me "I've never seen this before" or the famous "This is really rare, I've seen this like twice in 20 years" or "Honestly, this is a mechanical failure, nothing you could have done..".
I worry a little bit every day, but didnt worry any more after reading these threads. It, if anything, gave me some peace as to a) I'm not the only one that owns cars that spontaneously combust b) redlines are a good thing and c) I paid good money for this thing, I'm gonna drive it and love it and worry about what I do to it, and not panic. Really takes the joy out of owning it.
Its knowledge man, good things to watch for.. so you dont get bent over at the dealer. LOL
Mine is a daily driver too. Drive it, love it.. and hit the beep!

It's nothing huge to worry about. **** happens...
Just treat it like you are supposed to, check oil, redline, proper driving technique (don't burnout etc)...etc...
In my near-two years of ownership, I have driven it all year round, and I drove it to Vancouver, BC, TWICE...The engine is still running pretty good. Sometimes the car shivers a bit, but I think some grounding wires would fix it. I had alot of hard cranks in my first year, but its been better after the recall check, I think they replaced the sparks. I have 37000km in nearly 2 years.
I don't have a set interval for oil changes, but I do it quite frequently. Sometimes at 3000km, sometimes 5000km or 6000km. I redline it quite a bit when the roads are clear and safe. And I try to let her warmup as much as possible before I drive in the winter, and if I don't I will keep RPMs low until she does warmup. What's more is I ONLY use Petro Canada 91 octane. I hear Shell is decent too, but there are not many Shells around me. I wish there was Chevron in Calgary, with 94 octane, that's what I used when I was down in BC.
