Going to Ontario in October
Hey guys, I'm taking a week of vacation in a little bit and driving up to various spots in Ontario. I wouldn't mind meeting up with some forum members if possible.
Assuming I (and my 8) survive the two Solo II events the weekend before, I'm planning to be in Ottawa Oct 6th and 7th.
Toronto on Oct 8th, London on the 9th (that's where Western is, isn't it ? ) then back to Ottawa on the 10th, and maybe the 11th before heading back to N.S.
Can you tell I like to drive? :D
BTW, if anyone wants to recommend any hotels with decent and safe parking in any of those cities, it would be appreciated.

Jasper, I'll meet you in Ottawa. I'll PM you with my #.
If you want to really be safe you can get a hotel in Kanata (just west of Ottawa, where I live) and you should be good. If you want to be downtown there are many hotels with underground parking. I would call ahead and find out though, parking is more expensive in Ottawa than in Toronto!
edit: oops tried to send a PM but your box is full.

Looks good for Ottawa the 6th and 7th, and I need to get to Western on the 9th. I've got to stop by and pick up my 1:18th model in Whitby in between, and was thinking of staying in Toronto on the 8th. The 10th I'll probably drive back to Ottawa and then do the big drive back to my folks' place on the 11th, for the big turkey feed on the 12th.
I haven't worked out the travel times in between all the cities yet (how far is it from Toronto to Western, for example). I don't really have anything planned specifically. I'll be visiting some friends in Ottawa (and hopefully meeting Wing), and a friend of mine who's a professional student at Western (we graduated from high school the same year, I've been out of university for 9 years...), but the only plans I've got for in between are picking up the model and the required pilgramage to the Ferrari dealership. My main plans for this vacation are to spend lots of time with the 8 before I put it into storage for the winter, and to get as far from work as possible.
It would be cool to meet a few of the Toronto forum members on the 8th if anyone is interested. BTW, I'd love to see a yellow and/or black 8, since those are the two colours I haven't seen yet.

Jasper,
I could meet you on the 8th while you're going through Whitby. I've got a Yellow, and Ron Jeremy has a Black. He's in the same area. I'll give you my work number. Give me a call when you drive through.

So would it be easiest to just plan to meet somewhere in or around Whitby?
Say 6 or 7, or 8 for that matter?
Of course, I have no idea where anything in Whitby is, so it might be best if you guys pick the spot.

This is why the RX-8 (or should I say the rotary engine) is so unique. Its the bonding that takes place. Sevenstock is a perfect example.
A unique engine in a unique car brings unique people together. Sounds like a great intro on www.renesis.ca
I'll post in the spring with my extensive Ontario trip I have planned.. and hopefully meet some of you then.
