Good dealer service in Vancouver?
Hey everyone, my rx8 is coming up to 4km, and can use an oil change soon. Need your help in recommending a good dealer service in 604 area. What are your experiences with dealer service in Vancouver area?

From what I've been reading here, the oil will always be dirty - they never can do a full change because oil sits in the coolers during the change, and gets recirculated. The 'clean oil' thing is definitely something that applies to piston engines, however.
8K kms is the recommended service interval from Mazda, as per the manual.
Most dealers overfill the oil at each change - fairly common, actually. They add something like an extra 300 cc of oil, so that the dipstick reads over full when you check it the first time after the change.
Whoever you decide to go to, make sure they're good about getting the car back to you on time. An oil change should take no more than 45 minutes from when you arrive to the time that you leave.
+1 for Signature Mazda, by the way.

Thanks everybody for the recommendation. I'll give Signature dealer a try since it's close to my office.
About the frequency of oil change, it seems everybody has different opinion. IMHO, it's all depends how hard you drive you car, but that is a different topic altogether.

stay AWAY from metro!
actually mostly all places are pretty evil...
but i think that is only the sales,
most places in Vancouver are hungry $ suckers.....
Service though, i think the closest place to where you live might be good,
but, better yet,
try to find a mechanic that you know and trust,
get him to do the job, it's pretty much 1/2 the price mazda will charge you,
but better oil, better service, and more precise.

I went to Signature for oil change last week. I was the 2nd customer in, so they could work on it right away. It took 45 min. and about $35 for he oil change for parts and labour.
On the other hand, the sun visor broke after 1 month I got the car. I am still waiting for a replacement from the dealer. From other member posts with this problem, it seems that some US dealers either have the part in stock, or they can get it quickly. No such luck for us in BC, so be careful when using your sun visor!

To be honest, I don't ever use the sunvisor. Never have, actually. I wear sunglasses for most daylight driving, and the lenses are polarized so the sunset glare isn't an issue. Parts seem to be a problem for the visors, but Signature has been quite good about getting parts for the 8s even if they aren't in Canada; I had a couple of parts come in from the US within a week of the order, and they were somewhat obscure parts.

Buddy, I wouldn't go to Signature. Langley guys seem to be OK but then again not too many of them (mechanics today) take care of your car as if it were their own,,I personally just buy the stuff at the dealer parts counter and do the change myself. VERY few mechanics use a torque wrench onEVERY bolt in your car. The way it should be done. Call me **** but I work in the aircraft industry. Thats the way things are tightened.
From what I've heard , Eunos in North Van is supposed to be really good. I'm also coming up on my 5000km oil change, but going to do it myself.
I've had the car in 2 times to the dealer and jsut didn't like how shoddy the work was. At Langley, they were very friendly, but when they replaced teh headlights, later i found that they never pu t back all teh clips that they were supposed to and also just left the headlight washer hose flopping around under the bumper instead of attaching it to where is supposed to sit. Minor stuff , but I like perfection (the way the car came off the line in Japan).
