Is this a good lease?

Is this a good lease?
For the month of August the following incentive is available: Lease a 2005 RX8 (T4SF65 or 85-AA00) from $399 x 24 months w/$2,800 down.
I saw this advertisment at Signature Mazda.
I've been reading all about leases etc. using the search function, but just can't seem to put it all together - it's too confusing! I wish I could talk to someone about it. Thanks for the help!

I should add some more information to my vague post above:
I am guessing that I do not care what the car is worth after 24 months, or what they charge me for it, because I just want to give it back, even if I can buy it for way less than what it is worth. I would still not be interested at all in it. I am wondering if this price is simply that I use the car for 24 months, and pay 399/month and 2800 and that's it - no worries. If this is the case, I'm quite sure leasing is right for me. I love to change my cars every few years, and I really dislike trying to sell my car and having a car without warranty. I drive much less than 20 000 km / year.
If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. I am serious and need a car starting the first week of September. I was considering the G35c, but there seems to be much more value and fun in the 8. Thanks again!

Where can u get this ad? I put 8000 down and lease $400 per month (tax included) for 24 months. The price definitely not tax included so it would be around 450 after tax. However remember from 399 means nothing so it depend on ur choice of GS or GT or any other thing ur want to add to the car. So i recommend u make sure about the price and the version u want first then post the thread. Advertise always show cheap price to attract us.

I'm pretty sure your ad is for a GS. I've actually seen quite a few lease ads for RX8's in the last 2 months. I remember one week they even had a Mazda ad (non-dealer specific) in the paper for $299/mo. + $5000 down for 2 years.
Basically your total costs would be freight/pde + downpayment + 24mos of payment + tax. I too am leasing a GS and found deals such as your to be something that worked out for me. With the low leasing rates on the 8, even if you wanted to buy after the lease you may not actually lose money vs. buying it today.
When I went to the dealership I found it was quite hard to negotiate further down than what was advertised. I went to 3 dealerships trying to negotiate something better WITHOUT showing the ad, and I couldn't get anything close. One guy even said I was wasting his time if I thought I could lease a RX8 for $3xx/month and $2500 downpayment. So if you are going for the lease then check out the ads in the paper and stuff. And if you want to save time, just bring the best ad you found to your neareast dealership and get them to match it. Otherwise they think you are BSing.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I found the ad here:

But I checked the mazda.ca site and it doesn't show BC to be one of the regional areas for this incentive. I think Alberta was one though. It probably is a GS, but as long as it's a MT, it's fine with me because I don't want to keep it anyways. I found this to be one of the best advertised prices for leases, from many of the cars I was looking at. I like many cars, but will go for the best value. Other ones I've looked at were a 24 month lease for a 300C, and it was just over 700/month, zero down, taxes in, which seems much more, and the g35c which was over 600, and not sure about the details. BMW 330i, 2006 wasn't even much more than these, but the 8 seems to be the most fun and best value.
So worst case with this 8 advertisement is 399 plus tax plus 2800? Maybe I'll call around Monday to check it out, but if that's the case, doesn't it work out to max, about mid 500 / month for the entire term, nothing else? Is that good?

Yeah the 8 is quite attractive to lease I must say. Sure it's no G35 but for the price/performance, it's hands down the best bang for the buck.
I think the most important thing with getting any car is setting a budget and sticking to it. If the price and term is right and you like the car, then go for it! And you know it doesn't snow much (if at all) in BC, so when winter rolls around this car will still be great, and you won't have all the salt and dirt
