Hey guys, here is a thought...the retail price is 5999.95 plus install and taxes.
RX8 forum members here in canada, i could offer the below:
what do you think??
1 kit>5600 plus taxes and labour no tax applicable
5 kits order placed>52999.99
installation cost @"no taxes"
10 kits ordered at once>5000.00 plus tax
installation costs @ "no taxes"
plus optional coatings
:ceramic or powder coating would be discounted 10% for all members
other tuning needs please email for quote.
length of group buy posted would be 2-3 weeks
i have also finalized my wholesale accounts here in canada for both Japanparts.com and Speed Alliance.
They offer everything for our cars from suspension, accessories, rims, etc, etc.
Some of their body kit lines are:Mazda speed,Mazda,Ing,Auto exe,Vertex lang,R-magic,Buddy club,Au-to bahn are just some of the ones i can now import in for the RX8 members ..spread the word and if you have any questions feel free to call or email us.

Around 4K CAD is about right.
I called a greddy dealer in Mississauga, and they wanted 6k.... no way.
The best bet is to order the kit to a bodyshop in buffalo, or somewhere in the states, and then drive over and get it installed.
It the duties and Tax on the kit when they bring it into canada that makes it cost the extra 2 grand, and you avoid it this way.
If ever end up getting a turbo, this is likely the way I will go about it.
Just my 2 cents.

Found it myself: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/cheap-turbo-kit-54127/
So the average price is $3000US...
According to Yahoo, the exchange right now is 1.22. $3000.00US becomes $3686.40CDN.
What happens to that $3700 when it hits our border?
7% GST = $259.00 (this should actually be calculated against the value *plus* the duty, so $259 is low)
8% PST = $296.00 http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/co...ind_pst-e.html
http://www.fourfold.org/LR_FAQ/FAQ.5...ms.canada.html
I haven't been able to find anything firm about what duty would be on the kit. If you include a Certificate of Origin with the kit stating that the kit was made within the NAFTA zone (is Greddy all-American?) then the kit will be exempt from duty. But you'll still be hit with the taxes.
http://www.hotrods.ca/Shops/FORMS/Naftarules.pdf
So roughly $4250CDN without knowing what the duty will be...

2. DUTIES AND TAXES
Goods valued in excess of your exemption are subject to customs duty and GST. Rates of duty differ for various commodities and depending on the country of origin of the goods. Customs duty is a percentage of the price of the goods and GST is charged on the total of the purchase price plus the Customs duty. Contact Customs for rates of customs duty on particular commodities and preferential rates of duty on goods in excess of your exemption limits.
3. IMPORTING GOODS THROUGH THE POST AND BY COURIER
Parcel post shipments under $20.00 (Cdn) are duty free but subject to duty and GST on the full value if over $20.00 value. Canada Post will collect any duty owing and will charge a $5.00 processing fee. Courier shipments from the USA (UPS, PUROLATOR, FEDEX, etc.) are not much faster and are more expensive. In addition to courier charges, you may have to pay a fee for customs brokerage. Also, you'll probably have to go further to pick up your parcel if you're not home when the courier attempts delivery.

all I know is when I'm ready to install the Greddy Kit, which is going to be next year I'm going to the states to have it installed, $2900 for the kit and around $500 for the install.
It seems that everything in Canada is OVER priced?!

welcome to canada
hey guys just wanted to step in..this is the problem with trying to compete against the states for a product..especially when everyone is giving them out for so cheap.
Even going to my USA distributor,by the time i get the "2 package" shipment sent here...it still would come to 4200-4500 cnd+/-.
then plus install.
i try to give my business to canadian suppliers as long as they keep their prices in check
PLease remember, that i'm just trying to provide a service to fellow RX8 owners here in canada..not trying too screw someone.
I charge 850 cnd to install the kit, because it will done by guys that know rotaries..not a shop pretending to.
I'm still hashing out with my usa supplier to get the best deal so i can get the prices down to that which are stated above.

Hey Guys,
Just thought I would chime. To be honest, being a Canadian business trying to sell goods that are shipped from the states is not an easy thing. If your an avid enthuasiast, you should already know that purchasing any goods in Ontario or Canada for that matter is not a cheap and it's for a reason.
Yes you can likely drive down to the US to get a kit installed. What about the time, money and gas you spent to get down there? Spending the nights in a hotel room to get the kit installed? And trust me... I have friends in Buffalo who actually drive up HERE to get mechanical work done because the mechanics are not qualified enough.
Granted, I am not sticking up for Essential Speed or commenting whether the price is expensive or cheap. I just don't think it's fair to compare direct pricing from internet prices from the US to a Canadian shop here.
The Canadian shops are what keep the scene alive and I strongly support them. They try their best to compete with prices in the US but it's just not comparing apples to apples as it may seem for some of you. You also have the reliability that if something happened, you can drive down directly to a shop and do something about it.
P.S. Greddy is from Japan so NAFTA wouldn't work.
Just my 2 cents guys.

I bought a lot of stuff from the US. It is not that much cheaper after brokerage fees, shipping and exchange rate. I know guys who went accross the border to buy parts and have it installed only to come back and have it fix.
Also ask your credit card or bank what their exchange rate is. Credit cards are 2% higher than market. go ahead and call them.
All I'm saying is, don't jump the gun.

I bough Front Air Dam + Front Mud Guard from the states and the totals cost Canadians (Products + Shipping + taxes and Duties) came to $850CDN.
Just to buy the Front Air Dam here in Canada it's $750 + taxes and $145 for front guards. Total $1030CDN taxes included.
Saved $180cdn
But, for something like Turbo + installation, i think it's worth it to buy locally just in case of problems.. and more tuning.

thank you to paint a better picture for the members...
I can do better on the pricing based a couple at a time to divide shipping and importing costs amungst.
Probably get the kit down for memembers to 4800 plus tax and cash for the installation.
Just a note anyone with the Xenon headlight upgrades be prepared for a little extra labour charges..the supplied greddy ecu hareness will not fit into the box,as the transformer is in the way..needs modifying.
My kit is 90% done...greddy left out alot of little bits of info...alot of guessing and unbolting previously bolted items off.But over all a great kit,i will running the turbo smart dual port blowoff valve.
Had great experience with them on the mazda speed protege upgrades.
The kit when it came back from the ceramic coaters looks amazing.
anyone interested in my info regarding the turbo kit pricing PM me

PM me if intertested
My kit is installed..with several tuning issues from greddy.
We now have the unlock codes to tune the kit,
In return we'll be sending the results to greddy so they can upgrade their programming with regards to any canadian kits sold.
