GTA: Active RX-8 Members
Hey guys.
I'm brand new to the forum (I literally just joined a minute ago), and I was wondering how many active members from GTA were on the Canadia board. I'm coming from the my.IS forum and we had a rather strong local community there, so I was just checking to see if there was some sort of a similar vibe over here.
I'm looking into getting an RX-8 and as dumb (to some of you) as this may sound, the local scene plays a role in my decision. If I ever get stuck or need help, it's a good feeling knowing you can log online, or call up a buddy to come out and give you a hand.

Define active. Active posters or active meet attenders? Since I joined in January there's been one meet and I think 5 of us. Where's the rest?!!!
Here I go out of my way and buy an RX8 so I can hang out with you guys and noone shows.

Welcome to the forum.
The RX8 community in the GTA is a definite plus with both social and technical benefits.
On your other post: Learn to use the search button or expect to be flamed!

The RX-8 is mostly driven by middle-aged women, no joke. Don't count on many Tim Horton meets. The car is rare enough you'll probably end up hanging out with owners of other non-mainstream cars. To me that's a plus because the crowd tend to be a little more mature. Plus the rotary engine is always a good conversation starter. Most people don't know anything about the RX-8 and only remember the RX-7 they saw on Fast and Furious. Everyone think you have a twin turbo 300hp engine.

If active means grinding knuckles on your car, and posting occassionally then I am in. We don't have regular meets during the winter (because of the weather, duh), so activity is a little lower.
There is plenty of knowledge and know-how available for you here.

Well I was thinking more so like active meeting type members. I was never a huge fan of the Tim Horton meets, but I loved the BP/DB, Car show or go-karting type of meets.
The reason I'm asking is 'cause I was a pretty active member on the my.IS board and knew my way in and outta the IS. I never really dealt with a mazda, so I know if I end up buying the rx8, it's going to be a hell of a learning process. No pistons or anything ehh? What's up with that :P lol
Ohh and Darkbrew, thanks for the heads up. I'm still considered a n00b, so I'm gonna milk that as an excuse for being lazy as long as I can.
