GTA owners/drivers

Hi all,

Looking for some suggestions on:

1. a good car wash in/around downtown Toronto, that's not always crazy busy. At the moment, I use the Esso one on Davenport just south of Dupont. There's no track, as I'm pretty paranoid with those things scraping my rims. Any suggestions?

2. where are some nice, scenic, winding roads for a Sunday drive in the GTA that lets me have some fun and really "feel" my RX8?

Thanks in advance...

Don Valley Parking Lot eh TurboEight!! lol

I'd suggest you to get a bit up north buddy... I went to a 350Z driver's meet last fall and the route they planned is pretty good... I'll try to find the details for ya~

DVP at night

Yeah, I've done the DVP and Hwy. 7 at night and they're great, but hoping for some suggestions during the day.

Nothing in the GTA during the day. There's traffic everywhere!
I have no idea how you can call the DVP "scenic". Regardless of time of day/night the road is constantly packed.

If you want some nice roads you'll have to head out to the Niagara region. Lots of great roads up by the escarpment.
Yes, it's a bit of a drive, but there's no where else where you'll get decent roads without of scenery.

As for carwashing. You have a drive way, right?

If you don't want to go out towards Niagara. Slightly closer (Barely) head out to Peterborough area. Some of hte co untry roads up there are quite nice.

Drive down Bayview Ave. from York Mills. You'll start to hit the "rich" part between that and Eglinton. Then the road curves around constantly at a decling elevation towards downtown. Continue onward till you hit the dead end on Front St which forces you towards west.

Then make a left on Cherry St. and go all the way towards the Docks and take some photos by the parking lot there to get a view of Toronto (that's what I did, and I posted some on this forum already).

Then go back onto Lakeshore --> Queens Quay, stop by harbourfront and get a nice Starbucks and sit and enjoy your car and the sun =)

Oh yeah, if you feel the "need for straight-line speed"... you can take a look a Unwin Ave. and Commisioner St. down by the docks area.

Lakeshore and Queens Quay aren't that good of an idea at the moment. The roads there are F'd to the max!! There are pot holes on those roads that will EAT YOUR CAR!! I think there were 3-5 cars so far that were destroyed on those two roads this winter!

Thanks for the responses folks!

I've heard though, that there are cops around Commissioners Street, etc.?

The DVP is by far the best road for a quick cornering fix. Bayview extension is too cop-infested. Forks of the Credit and Twyn Rivers are low-speed and there is no margin for error. Sadly, us Torontonians simply aren't getting our money worth with the RX-8.

Lol...I even feel that we don't even enjoy our 8's enough here in toronto.

Freaking traffic everywhere, 60% of the day, alot is bumper to bumper, which our 8 hates....

Here are some photos to look forward to.. sadly it looks like the Molson Indy might be toasted this year. I'm seriously pissed off about it because that is to me the one real race we get in Toronto every year. ALMS is lame in comparison.

Some where to realy "drive"

I often drive east to Cobourg and head north where I am verry familiar with some
realy winding smooth roads. You can realy get al your rx8 driving experience
worth. If you are interested post me a reply and we can head out for a good run.
Also lots of good roads north of where I live (Newcastle).
