GTA owners - tentative meet 7PM Mar 6th location venue TBD

Back from sunny climes, and wondering if,as and when the next meet is? Seems to me the last one "dedicated to the Kart" was more than 2 months ago.

With Raquel parked in the garage her owner is suffering from withdrawals. I freely admit that I did not equip her with snows - she is far too much the diva to risk a blemish or bump from the snow driving novices out there),

Any ideas?

Ya, I think its time to meet again. A few Friday nights ago, there was a STI meet @ D&B. It seemed to have a good atmosphere because it was at night at a bar drinking and eating etc...

Do you think people would be intersted in meeting on a friday or saturday night?

I am getting tired of D&B though. Any other suggestions that is somewhere nuetral ?

I'm up for one... It's been while since I've seen some real sports cars on the road... Even though there are 4 RX-8's on my street and all are winter driven... By women no less!

Shamble, suggest a place... I'm up for almost anything... Know of anywhere interesting?

Man, you guys are "chalk full of ideas" when it comes to meets.

You could always go skating downtown (free besides parking), snowboarding meet, there is clubs to hit, go out to dinner, hit up a movie, have a casino run, etc...

Casino! I think we'll lose alot of interest if we choose that venue as many don't gamble. (I do :D ). How about a dinner @ 7 PM and then see what everyone else is interested in after that. I'd be in. Watch out also for the "March Break" thing that most people may leave town for!

O.K., now we're getting somewhere. So we could go to D&B, East Side Mario's, Casey's, Alice Fazoolie's or Sam & Pete's. (all in the same parking lot) Lets get some feedback and decide on where we're gonna meet.

Helas, did I see you pulling in to the parking lot A at casino Niagara a few months back? That was me pulling out of the lot. I think you had a few people in the car with you as well.

In any event, I'd go for any of the other restaurants besides D&B (I'm getting tired of it) mentioned and then we can make an agenda for after dinner depending on who wants to go where.

Here's an idea - what about Ontario Place?

It looks like they aren't doing the Cinesphere movie festivals anymore, so maybe the lots are pretty empty during the day (on weekends.)

I haven't been there in years, and don't remember if the entrance/exit is gated...

OK, I dont think Ontario Place has alot to do this time of year other then the show there, Does anyone have any objections to dinner at Caseys restrant in the Collosus parking lot (Jane & 400) on saturday march 6th at 7:00 pm? this is the main vibe that i am getting from most people. Then if we all want to do something afterwards, we can dicuess it. if anyone wants to dicuess the date and or time lets here it.

Yippee! Mic is back. Raquel would take you home, but she is hiding from winter.

I'm so glad to see you here again!

Hey Amur ... Ontario Place ?
Why not African Lion Safari ... Miniture Village..or better still.. Air Canada Centre ..
It's empty these days...
Anybody ever been to Ball's Falls?

Aw, come on now. You've never eaten a lunch in your life.

Empty is the point - we'd have the lot to ourselves. And since it's right off the downtown... finding someplace to eat shouldn't be too tough. New location, better view.

Now now lets keep it nice. And just to make a correction it is CASEYS restrant and not kelseys restrant. We dont want half the people at one place and the other half at the other.

FYI: the parking lot is gated. Now if there weren't any events going on at the CNE grounds then there are huge parking lots inside there that are usually wide open. Some of the backdrops in there would make for some interesting pictures.
Just not a good spot to go for a cruise after, seeing as Central Traffic (Toronto Police) is ver nearby (1/2 block), but everyone could go to medievil times after? pricey though ($60/plate).

I'm just throwing out ideas here.

Maybe we should throw out what people like first: Hobbies/interests and then try to accomadate accordingly.

Going to T.O. downtown is a thought... although like MyRxBad said, I don't know about the whole Ontario parking lot situation... Plus, it's still cold outside!! Wouldn't want to be standing around in an open area with wind's blowing!! :D

I know a great little Chinese restaurant off of Dundas and University... But parking downtown is going to be a bitch!

Any other suggestions??

Pete, its good to see that you are moving forward with the kit. MS Kit? Good luck and hope you're car will be ready in time so we can see it!

Neo's right. I also know a great little Chinese food place on Dundas and Elizabeth "Yueh Tung" . Food is great and the price is very very reasonable. Parking is a bit of a bitch though as the restaurant has a loyal following.

Anyone up for serious Pizza (Without booze as they lost their liquer license)? I know of a place called "Dante's" south of Yonge & 7. Very expensive (for Pizza)but serious Pizza, Veal Sandwiches, Pasta - Everything there is home made/family owned and in a very casual setting. A place where the portions are huge and they use top notch quality ingredients. On a saturday night, they have 30 delivery cars and deliver over 1,000 pizza's!

The pizza place sounds tempting. You're going to ruin my very bad taste.

I don't know Yonge & 7 at all (except for one LCBO.) :D

For places near downtown, how about that box theater off the Gardiner @ Islington. It's the suicide exit if you're eastbound. Big lot, in good shape (although the short stretch of the Queensway you'll have to drive on is a disaster,) and it shouldn't be packed during the matinees. We can take over a corner without worrying about being chased off...
