Footman,

I'm gonna try to search for the route at home. I remembered I printed it out. Quite a few pages. But a very interesting cruise.

Rev,

I would love to work for a company that forces you to go on a 24hr plane flight to the land down under for "training". LOL

All the jobs I've gotten were "here's your desk.. you'll manage from there." as they walk away with a sinister laugh.

NEO,

Join CN Rail. You can get a permanent raccoon face sun-tan mark like me all summer long. You get to be indoors behind a desk, and outdoors 50% of the time. You also get to see the great outdoors all over Ontario, and visit small towns that most people have never even heard of.

It's quite an adventure.... oh I'm late for my train to Brockville again....

Hmmm, tour Canada or go to the land of OZ... that's a tough one! lol

If you haven't noticed yet, Canada is freakin cold!!! I'm trying to move somewhere where the weather is always nice.
If I had a choice, I would never want to see snow again!!

the problem with that chris is that those places usually have really nasty extreme weather. i mean here, the worst we get is about 2 weeks of tonado watches a year and some shitty roads in teh winter.

you move elsewhere and you likely have to deal with hurricanes, forrest fires, earthquakes, major tornados, floods...the list can go on.

we have it pretty good here. also, you wont have fall anymore which is normally my favorite time of year. so scenic. the temps are just right on the nice days....i love canada and more specifically ontario.

anyways, on topic, i've asked a few people i know about fall cruise ideas and a few times the niagara area has come up. so i think we should look into that if everyones up for it. I'll even volunteer to go for a recce run to make sure its suitable if we can agree on an area using google maps.

I change my mind>>>>> Southwood Rd. near Bala, ON " the goat path", great road! been on it a few times lots of twisty stuff, loose shoulder a blast at a good clip. May not be the road for a cruise though!
But definitely not the forks of the credit in autumn too many leaf watchers(tourist/traffic)

Too much in one day, are you trying to give the old fart(me) a heart attack or something! And the roads out that way are soooo straight for a cruise.

I heard the Haliburton area (40km east of Orillia) have nice areas too...

Though the Niagara-on-the-lake area seems good too, at least there are strip clubs around.

Dude... I'm going to OZ for my sister's wedding. The furthest I've been for work has been SF. Yeah... this company is pretty good to work for... the pay isn't the highest, but they invest in personal/knowledge growth which makes a pretty big difference in my books.

if we are gonna do haliburton, we may as well do southwood instead. its pretty much just as far and it seems everyone wants to eventually try southwood road anyways. still...the distance/time thing.

if niagara area is what we are gonna do, how about ridge road or 20 mile road as part of the cruise? check this link. keep in mind its crude and i threw it together in just a few seconds to give you guys an idea of it. it ends virtually at the falls. you can see twentymile road, where hwy 20 heads past smithville. it looks nice too. keep in mind this isnt a very long cruise either and im proposing it only as a section to hit. also with it ending in niagara falls we will have a good choice of places to grab a bite before heading home. as for the rippers...do you people not work on monday morning? haha. whatever, im game regardless. just sayin is all.

NVX and I drove Ridge Rd. this summer....

I say we swerve between McNelly Rd., Fifty Rd, and Woolverton Rd. using Ridge and No 8. Rd as bypasses.

This is just a short modification to the beginning stretch of Ridge Rd.

Then we should stop at a winery and do some wine tours?

Go above 0.05% alcohol content from ONE sample, then the entire ******* cruise gets pulled over and everyone goes to jail, 3-day suspension blah blah blah. ahjahjahaahahahah

The Escarpment is shaped that Ridge rd is higher elevation than No 8. We did McNelly downhill from Ridge Rd. and then made a U-turn on No. 8 so we can have a run uphill and saw the blue STi going downhill in the opposite direction.

McNelly is the one with the crazy *** hairpin-turn that you almost have to be in 1st gear going uphill to get any power.... almost...

Count me in, assuming I can get my coolant leak sorted out.

The Forks of the Credit and Hockley Valley are soooo close you could do them both.

So where abouts is this cruising happening? If it's too far, then I doubt I could make it, same goes for my brother.

Only 8 people have expressed interest so far... not enough to go ahead with any planning for now...
