Has anyone purchased the MAP?

Has anyone purchased the MAP?
My car (2004)'s 3 year Bumper to Bumper warranty expires this month. I've been considering the MAP for additional 2 years - but the quoted cost of around $1800 from the Mazda dealer seems like it's not worth it.
Anyone in Canada purchase the MAP and did you do it through a dealer?
Thanks

I'm The Poster Boy For Map
I bought the extended warranty right from the get go in 2004 - Just over $2000. Boy was that a smart move. Took me from 3 years and 80K to 6 years and 160K.
I've had over $15,000 in work done to my sweet thing. Just got a new engine last week and the engine light came on again today.
Could be engine #3.
Oil pumps, ignition coils, starters, catalytic converter, plugs .. you name it .. I've had it replaced .. But you know what .. I love my puppy .. Chick Magnet ..
When are the new ones coming out ??

I've got an early 2004 built in July 2003. I extended the 36/60 warranty to 48/100 at time of purchase for $535. That expired in September. I just bought the 84 month / 160 km extension. I think full retail was $2624, but I got it for about $2200.
I've owned about 15 new cars in my driving life pre-RX8 and have never, ever purchased extended warranty. This time, when the sales guy strongly recommended MAP - I bought. And like Mic Jagger above, I'm sure glad I did. At last check total warranty spend has been about $10,000 - $4500 of which has been after the factory 36/60 would have expired. Obviously, in this example, it's more than paid for itself. Normally, this would be God's way of saying it's time to get a new car, but I really like this one and the dealer service has been outstanding.
Besides, for $2200, I've now got another 3 years of worry free driving in a car that looks identical to a 2008 model.
