Having fun in the snow in cowtown

Anbody know where I can find a BIG, EMPTY parking lot in Calgary? I've found a couple decent sized ones in the south near Chinook but they're nothing to write home about.

I have noticed a huge difference in snow driving with DSC off...good thing we have that helpful feature

I don't do parking lots...however once I am off the major roads ans on the back streets leading to my house I always turn off the DSC and practice my rally slides around the corners and leading up to my driveway. It works well becuase the side streets in my area are always covered in snow.

The South end of Market Mall used to be great - big, usually empty, and only a few light poles to worry about. Of course, that's out now since they built the huge expansion there. Waaay back in the 80s, there used to be a big section of the runways from the WW II bomber base at Mount Royal (the College was built on the grounds of the old bomber base, that's what the Atco buildings at the south end of MRC are from - old airplane hangars), at the NE corner of the campus. We used to hold impromptu autocrosses there, but in the 90s MRC built student housing over the end of the old runway . It is very hard to find a good parking lot these days!

Regards,
Gordon
