Hi,
Need some help here. My girlfriend got a speeding ticket for going over 30Km/h above speed limit on a local road. She knows for sure the Police got the speed of the car next to her on the fast lane since she was rolling along around 60km/h (like she always do - drives like a grandma) up a hill and then this car shot past her on the fast lane. Just then they spot the Police with a gun on the other side of the hill and he waved her in. By that time, the other car had already past the cop. The Cop immedidately gave her a ticket for over 30km/h.

Well, she is quite pissed about this as obviously she was not the one speeding. But anyhow, we no choice and will have to deal with this now. So just wondering if anyone knows any good Ticket Fighters around GTA with a decent price. Thanks a lot.

I must say smoker, everyone thinks they're "innocent". Ultimately it's for the courts to decide. You're first response is to challenge the ticket and request a trial.

My experience, is that the plea bargain is a gyp, since a ticket is a ticket according to your insurance, just difference of what you pay up front for the offence to the courts.

BTW, was she driving an RX8? The law ought to be changed to allow for 1 speeding emergency per month... just my suggestion

I've used X-Copper before but was not all that impressed. The best case of ticket defence I've ever heard was from a colleague at work. The first thing you do when at trial is ask to see the police officer's evidence - you are entitled to do this as he is entitled to view your evidence before trial starts (his note pad. if there are very few notes,and he doesn't have details then dispute evertything he presents!!) The biggest issue when you challenge a ticket is credibility....the courts will tend to side with an officer of the court. My colleague claimed the exact opposite of every piece of evidence that the police officer presented - if the cop said it was sunny, he said it was raining, the cop said the other driver was male, he said she was female). The judge decided that since the two versions of evidence were so different he could not find him guilty!!!
