Footman, you're such a nerd.
I would have loved to be the first one to reply to this so I could answer the topic question with "Get a man to do it".
There's no special voodoo required to open the cap. Just twist it left (counter-clockwise) as mentioned, HARD! It's a machine, not a baby. What is the dealer mechanic going to do when you bring it over? He'll turn it really hard. lol
If it breaks, I owe you a coke.

Did ya manage to get it off yet?
FWIW, there really shouldn't be that much (if any) vacuum pressure in there. Whoever screwed it on last probably just did it a bit too hard, or it seized for some reason.
I'm pretty sure if you just ask some guy in a parking lot he'll get it off for you![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
(pun intended)

Hi Leesha
The problem you are having is that most likely the dealer overtightened the cap. The best way to take it off is to use either a pair of really big vice grips or the really large gator pliers and make sure you spin it counter-clockwise, if you are afraid of damaging the cap just put a cloth over it before you grip it with the pliers or vice grip and EUREKA!!!!!!!!
