I got 310km last tank but i did redline it at least twice a day, once on the way to school and another one is on the way back home. And before this tank, i had SSV stuck open issue but i fixed myself by a bottle of redline fuel cleaner cuz apparently, the carbon built up wasnt too much. But when i read my scangauge II when driving, it merely shows less than 25liters/100km. i shift at above 3 rpm when the coolant temp goes up to 160 F. But even before, i didnt redline it as often as now, i still never seen close to 400kms. going to run with premix from next tank, hope get better result.

has anyone bought premium gas at regular price? I remember doing that during that blackout in 2003

hey john, i thought auto drinks more than manual. Maybe i havent driven any auto for years. when i went to nissan dealer once in the beginning of 2007, i ve looked at the new altima with 3.5 liters but it even saves a lot more gas than rx8 does; then i heard about the new auto trany it uses, which actually increases fuel efficiency a lot. Do auto rx8s use that too?

i dont think so,
i think what the engineers did when they built the rx8 is... they built the manual version then.. said.. ok we need an automatic version as well, lets just buy whatever transmission and stick it on
the 4 speed auto is terrible, worst automatic transmission i've driven on a late model car. it makes noises gets confused when to shift...i've only got complaints about it...and the pedals on the steering wheel are a good idea minus that i only have 4 gears to shift haha...i regret buying the auto but the deal was too good to miss
i know for is250s, the auto takes less gas. pretty sure not the case with 8s. i probably was less throttle heavy than you.

If you guys want gasmilage you should buy a "smart car".lol
Your rx8's engine is designed to be light weight performance engine.
Enjoy your car for what it is, A SPORTS CAR.
Cheers.

Same here....any of you guys think Sunoco 91 is better on mileage than ESSO 91 or Petro 91 (I haven't seen a Petro 94 here in Ontario). Is Sunoco 94 better than all?

the reason i was using mohawk for the longest while was because it was cheaper than all the others for some reason( mayb cuz now i realize it sux *** ) and it was close to my house, but after a tank of petro, i realize paying almost the same price for more milage is worth it, petro FTW!!

hmm..dont know about calgary, but i live in BC, we only have 94 at some petro's, most of them just haf 91...which i think is odd..if u haf 94 at one gas station, shouldn't all the others haf 94? .... weird..

Hmm, I use ESSO all the time because of the points.
I guess I'll start trying a few others, see the results.

But last summer I took my car to shannonville and put Petro 94 for the track day and for the drive back and saw my milage go way up I thought it was the highway driving that made such a big difference. But once I tried it in town I saw an incease in milage and from then on that is what I use.
Now I just need to get a points card from Petro.
BTW in Montreal all petro's have 94

Really? Hey Rems, do you have any performance mods on your 8? Maybe I should try Shell 91 (or V-Power I think they call it). Anybody else with any Shell stories? I stopped using Shell because about 10 years ago, my dad filled up Shell gas (Basic gas) in his Rav4, and one day it wouldn't start. The gas tank read quarter tank left, however, upon investigation by the dealer, apparently it was bone dry, but the fuel tank had an incorrect reading. Further investigation proved that an additive in the Shell gas made this happen. Now I can't say this to be a fact, but it was enough for me to stop using Shell gas ever since.
