Thanks Smoker. Went to Speedy auto glass, they repaired it for $60+taxes. So instead of a chip I have a plastic dot. Oh well, that's life.

I've travelled a total of 624 KM (two tanks of gas). I check the oil on the weekend (2nd gas up). My oil level is still full, this is normal right? I'm guessing, it's because I haven't reved the car alot.

Question: When the gas hit the big E, should there be a "beep"? all I get is the yellow light.

I just checked my oil after my 1500km mark (yes I have checked it b4! ) and it was about 1/4 to 1/3 low which is normal.

Hobbes: how many warning things do you need b4 you fill it up? :D but to answer you're question. All you get is the yellow light.

Since I don't smoke and have no need for a cig lighter in the car, do you know of any replace parts for this space besides the one the dealership offers, which is just a plastic box? I was thinking of making it into a cell phone holder.

Turbo Timer - I was talking to some car nuts and they said if you really need to move the car for short distances and don't want to sit there waiting, to get a turbo timer installed. It's pretty much does what it's called, after a set time is counted, it will shunt the engine down. They usually cost in the low 100s.

To me, I don't think that is something that is really needed, I roll the car out of the garage in N to wash it and then drive it, so real need to me.

Anyone know where I can pick up clear side markers in Toronto at the cheapest cost?

You may want to use this link first (Tranlator) and then hook up to the one below. There are interesting things taht we can get for the car, like a camera that links with the NAV when reversing, or how about a start button instead of a key?

Where did you find the camera that links in with the Nav...I'm not even sure how that could work with the existing screen...

Can you beleive it another windshield chip. At least is on the blackout boarder. I'm not going to repair this one. Been there for almost a week now and not spreading. Is it just me or there others out there having the same problem of their windshield becoming a magnet for stones?

Going to be taking the car in this week. Rear window on the passenger side is rattling when it's closed. Also, well get them to check the gauges out. I feel that they need to be recalibrated since they don't seem to reflecting my driving habits thus far.

Hobbes: Check out the TSB's. There is one for the rear window latch. (Just so they don't give you a hassle.) :D

MyRxBad - Thanks. Printed out, so all I can do is wait for them to do the work and jump back in my ride for the long weekend :D

BTW Does anyone know if there are Toronto/Richmond Hill Meets? I did a search but couldn't find any. If not someone should start one.

I know what you mean. I've already had two major chips on my windshield. I had one fixed and have left the other.

Unfortunately you missed a sucessful Ottawa meet this weekend.
We had the show and shine (which I missed) on Sat and then a cruise through Quebec on Sunday (which was amazing).

We had about 20 cars in the cruise. 10+ Rx-7's and about 6+ Rx-8's (mine included).

Richmond Hill/Toronto meets huh? Best thing to go to meets is to start your own I find. If you want, we could set something up for June sometime. IT would be nice to put some faces to the names.

Toronto/Richmond Hill Meet

I'll think about it over the long weekend to see if I can make it happen or not. If anyone of you want to throw their hats in the ring or take the bull by the horns on this by all means go for it, but just keep us in the loop :D

Picked up the car this morning and guess what. The rattling noise, ain't from the rear windows. I drove away and heard the nosie again, so I drove back and got Ted from Avante to sit in the car to experience it with me. It turns out that it's from the liner in the roof of the car. He's going to contact Mazda Canada to see if there is a technical fix for it, if not they will see if there is a need to create one. I'll be following up next week to see what the status is. Anyways enjoy the long weekend :D !

hobbes, we've pm'd a few times before, so I'm in for a Richmond Hill/Toronto meet soon.

Just ordered the alumium strakes from Canzoomer and got them put on, SWEEET, really want to show them off. Also got the clear corners, but they accidentally sent me two Right corners, so somewhere out there, is another guy with two left ones. Can't wait to get those installed too.

So i'm ready for a meet anytime, just give me time to shine her up first

CrackerJax - How much were the clear side markers/clear corners?

CReid - Chipped up from a Neon!? I feel for you. You might want to have it fixed by apple auto glass or any similar companies before the chips become cracks. Hood chip, well, you can touch it up. Do a search on touch ups and you'll find numerous sources on how to fix it. Personally I'm going to repaint the car when the small freckles become liver spots on the bumper et al. :D

I have the same "rattle" coming from the roof/rear view mirror area. It's intermitent, so of course I can't duplicate the rattle with a tech in the car!

Next time you hear it put your hand against the light on the roof and you'll notice the rattling disappear. Look for speed bumps or something like that to reproduct the noise. At Avante Toronto, I was lucky enough that the main road near them is a little choppy which help reporduce the noise with the service manager in the car to figure where it was coming from. I will be getting it fixed (fingers crossed) on mon. Tell you the results next week.
