I brought her home....
Just as the subject says:
I just went down to Mountain Mazda to pick up my new VR GT Rx-8 w/roof. So I'm now I'm a proud owner. Everytime I look at it I smile!
Just a couple comments on the car and dealer.
I went down to pick it up on Saturday morning and the snow was coming down on the way there, but most of the roads were dry/wet only, so I was hoping for the snow to stop as I had to drive my 8 home in it from Hamilton. Unfortunately Hamilton to Oshawa is quite a drive, but it was worth it. It gave me some good seat time in the 8 even though I'd have to store it when I got home. :D
The car handled lke a dream and driving the car at the speed limit takes effort as it feels so slow! So I anxiously awaiting spring to bring her out and take her to my usual (annual) Ottawa Rx-7 meet, to show it off.
On the ride home, so many people just had to catch up to me, or sit behind me for a while and then speed up beside me to take a look at the car. It's a good feeling. :D So she's happily tucked in and waiting for spring!
Just a few comments on the Peter Pickering at Mountain Mazda, as I think they should get some mention as I had been to more then my fair share of dealers before making my final desicion to place an order with them. He had nothing but respect for me, got me the best price I could find, always tried to help me out when he could, returned my phone calls in a timely fashion and left me feeling "taking care of" when all of it was said and done. It's rare to find that quality of customer service in any place these days, let alone, in a dealership that has a limited supply and usually turn you away when they don't think you are serious. I mean they even went to the trouble, after installing all my accessories to keep the Rx-8 in storage away from the snow outside and away from the showroom where people could have drooled and pawed all over it! (where it could have generated more sales). I was most appreciative of this and the fact that the car came with such low kms on it! So "hats off" to them for the service! It was nothing but "top notch!"
Now I have an 8 in the garage just itchin' to get out, and as they used to say in the 70's commercial,
"...and the Mazda goes Hmmmmmmm."
