I hate this piece of s#%t

i have tried everything...why is it that no one on gods green earth can determine why i have power loss, terrible idle and a rattling noise that is downright embarrasing....i have had everything tested....i personally know that it is the cat....it just makes sense however the sea monkeys at EVERY mazda store i got to say my cat is within mazda specs WTF are mazda specs???....pure crap from bumper to bumper.....i pity anyone that buys one of these pieces of mouldy manure....it is the worst powerplant that has ever crossed the curbs off mazdas lots.....whats worse is that there is truly no mechanic that can fix these urine boxes....how the hell can they sell a motor that they consider thier flagship powerplant and then have zero idea as to how it works and what to look for when there is a rattle that people in missouri can clearly hear????? guys this has pissed me off to no avail i am so sick of having these yard apes look at me like a deer in headlights...with no answers....i know some of you have had this issue please someone give me any input that might assist me here....i cannot be more pissed!!!!!the next mechanic that tells me that the car runs with factory spec is gonna get a free muay thai lesson......

So sell it dip ****, and move on. Why are crying here about it. Grow a pair and deal with it or move along.

LOL +1

Have you had a compression test done?
This would explain the loss of power
Have you checked the motor mounts?
This would explain the rough idle
What area of the car is the rattle coming from? Describe the sound, is it high or low pitched? Could be an exhaust leak or even something as simple as a heat shield

Calm down buddy, like 9k said there are two ways to deal with it, this isn't one of them. Nearly everyone has dealt with this, if you know it's the cat replace it, pretty logical.

Get under your car, drop the cat, shine a flashlite in an take a look ... or pay someone to do it... It's only 3 bolts and a hanger. Then you'll at least be able to satisfy yourself if your hunch is right. Oh yea, take a picture to show Mazda if it IS the cat, someone's got to teach them...

did someone say that mesh actually means something...in my stock box the screen ripped and i removed it....you think thats bad....?

Did your terrible idle coincide with the removal of your screens?

all of this premium gas in my opinion is nonsense, there isnt a car on the road that cant run on 87

You are running good gas, right?

Just quotin'......

.... we're not as helpless as you might think :p

schnipster... try taking it to Mazmark.. it's located relatively close to Scarb Mazda... they do everything the old fashioned way... and they're more knowledgeable then a dealer. If they can't figure it out... just put the thing up for sale and be done with it.

Try these guys out... Mark is the guy who built 01racing (Al's) engine...If there is one guy in Toronto that know about rotary, it would be him.

On a different note; I understand your frustration, there are a lot of under qualified mechanics out there that DO NOT understand how to deal with a rotary engine & Mazda Canada had not invested the necessary training to develop expertise. But you can't help other members on this forum (who have a love for rotarys) to not give you a piece of their mind when you make direct negative comments about the car they come to love.... its just natural.

To be fair, this car does have its problems...and its hard to diagnosis and resolve...but its the love for a rotary engine that we are all on this forum...if the car is giving you this much trouble...maybe you could consider switching it out for a BMW 335i or a Nissan 350z? Just my 2 cents....

As a fellow practitioner of muay thai... should we respect our gym, kru & ar jai and not use the art outside the ring? Just a thought....

yin-dee-tee dai ru jak khun khrup Kru...

What gym do you teach out of? I train out of Kru Zubair Khan's gym @ Warrior Muay Thai.

Most dealers don't know much...Check Mark out...he should be able to help you.

Best of luck on your diagnosis....

good luck with your decarb... not suited for rotary engines just so you are forewarned... wonder why the dealers haven't done that service on yours yet?
