emmm.... if DCS is kicking in for you in then chances are the car is trying to save ya from something... unless you're an extremely good driver (which you could be) and pushing at full tilt... it's normally a good idea to leave it on....
just sayin...

you'll find out at the track... it's funny.. there's always a number of people who say that the DCS just slows them down on the track... so they turn it off... normally within a lap or two they're facing the wrong way. Again.. before eveyone starts stating differently... this is MOST people. Not everyone.

of course i didnt crash my baby. this is the exact reason i do that every morning when the weather is crappy. My street is usually the worst case senario as far as any roads ill be on on my way to work. There are no houses across from me, nor are there any trees for about 30 meters off the road. I get the car sorta sideways and just feel how easy it is the keep it under control. If the roads are bad enough, ill also give her a good emergency stop to see how far the ABS will take me before the car does stop, just so i know. My drives to work are usually uneventful.
as for another DCS on/off debate, different strokes for different folks. I dont even have it, so i dont have the crutch, that means i have to go in driving like an old lady and push it a little more each time to know where im comfortable and where the line is. I wont argue that DSC and traction control are great things and they work well to save your ***. Also, the one found in the rx8 is pretty nice in that it lets you play quite a bit still before it goes to work, but people think they are too safe with them. If you just assume it can save you no matter what, you might be the type to drive more stupidly and push it much harder than you should and there is definitly a point where all the flashing dahslights in the world cant keep you pointed where you wanna go.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if you can put 18" or 17" snow tires/rims on the R3? I'm looking into the R3 or the 370z as a daily year round driver and trying to plan ahead for additional costs before making a decision. Due to caliper clearance on the 370z with sports package you have to use 19s for snow tires which will cost a fortune. 18's wont work. I know on the '04-08 8s you can use 18" or 17" snows no problem, but with the 19s on the R3 is it still possible to go down to 18s or 17s?
