Well I don't know about Vancouver but I just pick up my 8 yesterday and my insurance went down $132.24 a year :D ($137.30 to $126.28 per month), I still cannot believe that! I went from a 1993 Mazda MX-3 (V6 1.8L) to a 2004 RX-8, you go figure that one out.
They didn't care about the factory alarm system or the Boomerang2 that I will be installing shortly but apparently I scored big points when I told them the 8 had an engine immobilizer. Make sure you tell them about engine immobilizer when you ask for your insurance quote!

Well, don't get to hung up on this 2-door sport coupe thing just yet.
I don't know about in BC, but out here, my registration says my car is a 4-door.. which.. it is.
