Introducing myself - new to the RX8 World with one question (meets)
Hello all, I'm a new RX8 owner. Recently purchased an 2005-WWP from a Mazda lot with under 75,000k. Very clean car and very pleased with it.
In the coming months, I'll definitely be looking at getting more involved on the forums and mainly try not to get burned with "Did you try searching it"...
I've noticed some meeting areas for RX8 owners for the Markham/Toronto/Scarbs area...just wondering if people do that for more...West - Toronto/Etobicoke/Mississauga? If there are regular meetings I wouldn't mind meeting some of you and getting some other opinions on what to do as an RX8 owner =) - yes I know some of you may be hibernating the RX8 until spring, but I've just set my car up with some winter steelies and willing to meet...I do have another couple friends with RX8s in that area..I'm sure they would join up too.

Hell, I'd be down for next week. Headed to Guelph tomorrow anyways.
As for Facebook, let it collect some dust.
Do you guys typically have a go to spot...watching the civics at a timmies?

Winter meets are usually a meet of the 'winter beaters' lolz....I'll come with my Corolla to just to 'see the look' on a few people's faces. :p
Can't wait for the spring...got a brand new setup in the works...

LOL! I technically have a winter beater....but as a 22 yr old unmarried male...I can't afford insurance on 2 cars for that extended period of time...nor do I have space to keep my cars =(
1.8T 2003 Jetta definitely does the trick in the winter....

Thanks, definitely will do. Lucky I live near one of the Krown locations to get it ready for winter. Have a couple more days of warm weather....probably get it done then =)

This year was a decent kick-off for new members, we established a few new regular meeting spots, including Square1 in the 'Saug, Kennedy Commons in Scarb, and Red Maple up in Richmond Hill.
Winter meets are more scarce, and less populated, but they do still happen. Popular one last year, was the Friday night rinse-off at the Valleymede Pay&Spray (Hwy7 near Leslie). Not sure whether that will take off this year, I feel like there's more beaters on the road this year vs RX8s. Sign of the times!
Anyway, keep an eye on the "Markham/Scar" thread or the "GTA Meets" thread, always welcome to post and pitch a meet, or just show up if you see one happening.
And don't think too badly of us if you show up and nobody else makes it. It's practically a rite of passage. :P

Are you "carelite"?
The group is only open to people who own RX-8's and former RX-8 owners and special guests. Your facebook account does not allow people to send you messages so there was no way I could message you to find out if whether you own one or not.

Almost every Thursday nights, a group gathers to have dinner in Richmond Hill. Open to all peeps here. When there is snow, will probably bunch up the salt-spray down just before dinner up there as well.
