Jay, Andrew I just thought of something...
In our disclosure package, the cop said these things...
1) We accelerated from a stop to 70kph in 150 m / 450 ft (an NFL football field is 360 ft long)
2) The Golf driver was screeching his tires
2) He was coming westbound and then saw us coming eastbound
So basically he's saying that he more than 150 m away from us when we started accelerating. Assuming he was actually stationary, he was able to hear screeching tires from that far away. AND accurately able to judge how quickly we were accelerating, AND our speed. He can judge how fast a car is going from 1.25 football fields away?
Seriously, I don't think we even need any math with flaws like these.

So I read your other post...how is it possible that he can clock your speed without a speed gun? He also stated he had a witness without any other info?
Did he state you screeched your tires? How are you racing if only the golf did it? As well as he stated you did up to 70kph in 150m? Did he state you EXCEEDED the speed limit? how can he TELL the speed if he's traveling one way and you're traveling the other? I never knew human eyes could be properly tested to be able to be able to tell even 95% accuracy of speed 95% of the time.

Anyways...this might not help, so please take it with a grain of salt. With my VERY limited physics knowledge, I have derived the following formulas that could help you. Although i'm sure there are more advanced formulas that could help you more this is the best I can do....sorry guys.
So we have your final speed of 70kph which is like ~19.44m/s
Initial speed is 0 m/s
distance traveled as 150m
SO...we have two formulas...vf^2=vo^2 + 2ax...plugging in the values we discover average acceleration a = 1.26m/s^2
then using vf = vo +at plug in the values we get your time of 15.4s to accelerate to 70kph...
So...then unless if your rx8 is severely broken (I doubt it is) 0-70kph in 15.4 seconds if you were flooring it, is uh an impossibility as you should of been going MUCH faster than that, if you had really been street racing.
Again this might not be helpful at all, so if it isn't please don't flame me, it's very late I'm tired, and gotta be up for a few more hours yet =(
