Well I finally got in for a compression test today. My dealership's tester broke so we had to wait on one from Mazda Canada (nearly 6 weeks!). They told me it would be about another 4 to 6 weeks because the engines are back-ordered right now, apparently. In any case, that engine had a good run and will be missed.

148,000kms, '04 6MT GT

Can't wait to start zooming again!

 

Being fairly new to this, 148,000 doesn't sound like a "good run"...but all of this is very, very well documented.

Before I took to the track with RXleckless, I actually looked up the cost of a rebuilt engine...and it didn't look that bad - less than $3,000.
