Just a reminder..............No starts
Hey everyone, with this weeks colder weather we have had some flooded Rx-8's towed in. Just a reminder when its cold, make sure your batteries are good and charged up, RX8 cranking speed is one of the keys to fast start up. Also remember on a short trip when the car doesnt properly warm up to rev it to 3000RPM hold it there and shut it off! If it does flood, before you spend any money towing it in, pull out the fuel pump relay and try cranking it again with someone else there. Once it tries to fire have them quickly plug the relay back in.
Just some quick tips for winter!

Great tip to keep in mind this winter, thx Al! I'll be dropping by on Saturday for the starter replacement, hope that helps with the occasional morning "hiccups"

Why do you think there inventory would be any different? They buy from the same people everyone else does. All of the inventories come from Eibach, anyway to each his own lol

lol... well... not sure if it's "ig'nant" or not.. but I think it would more or less be torture for the poor bastard who does it and has to stare at (you know teef will be looking,touching,tasting..... humping) their car all throughout the winter.

my car flooded and the battery dies 2 days ago in the am.....my wife neglected to tell me that she drove the car for 5 minutes to the store and back the night before....she knows about the 3000rpm thing and that the car needs to warm up but it " slipped " her mind....anyways, got it started after about an hour.....nice puff of smoke out the rear though...hehehe.....neighbours thought I set a bomb off..haha.

Is the 5 minute idle and revving to 3000 rpm enough for a Canadian winter to prevent flooding? Or is 10 minutes more appropriate.
I am seriously considering a Turbo Timer for short trips.
