I'm guessing the $50 is just the beginning.....I'm still praying to the Rotary Gods to take it easy on me. No extended warranty. I'm thinking of taking a jar of vaseline in with me when I pick her up.

Probably was Thief. Look after her for me would ya? She likes a warm glass of 5w20 at bedtime and only sleeps to either Zepplin or 80's metal. Oh! And she answers to "Guen".

Nope. None yet. I just have to be patient. It's killing me from a "what the fugg is this gunna cost me" standpoint at the moment. I'm really, really freakin out about this and whether its going to cripple me before Christmas.

Cost will all depend on how you deal with the issue/s. That is up to you and how fast you need it back, if you catch my drift. Figure for the worse, hope for the best

I really have no other choice but to have it serviced there. I could buy the parts elsewhere (nearby) whatever they may and if they're less expensive but I'll have to get the guys there to bring her back to life. I'm putting a lot of faith in this.

Al, you're one helluva guy. Please thank Colin for me for staying beyond the call of duty to get her going. Thumper...it's about $400 all in for the plugs, the restart and the tests. Probably need a new battery too. Al gave me a pretty good deal being a member of the club n'all. We're just in the process of trying to figure out if the weird stutter at 40kmh in 3rd is due to the plugs. It feels like a misfire so it may cure it. Let's hope. Bottom line, I'm sure she'll run a lot better after having the old shitty plugs replaced.

I know! LOL...hence the expensive part, but they are good.

I wish!! Better than Canadian Tire crap. Not sure what other's have in their cars. Supposedly Mazda has a replacement battery warranty, up to 12 months free, 12-24 months customer pays 25%, 24-36 customer %50 etc etc. Along those lines, if you want a Mazda battery. I haven't decided yet what I want via price/reliability since I need a new one as well.

prob., it will be more responsive and should run smoother, if your coils are good.

Right now we are still in the guessing stages. I know that sounds bad but its the truth. Because we have no history on the car, we can only go by what we see at this point. The 1st thing we noticed other than it being severely flooded with a dead battery (lol) was the plugs look original. So now thats its running and after the AVR test to make sure the alternator and battery are okay we will change the plugs and see how it runs. Could be the whole problem or have nothing to do with it! (lol)

ps. Parts manager Steve has decided to increase the clubs discount to 20% off parts on all OEM stuff and even better pricing on Mazdaspeed parts! Spread the word to all the Mazda Clubs! The service department is still offering 15% off any service other than already smooth or discounted services

ARGH! Al's playing the cautious role here. I had a talk with God and he said it's the plugs. And the dead battery had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the fact that I tried 4 times to recover the engine after the flood as per the manual. Nothing to do with that at all. lol

Hey what type of battery should I get? Is it like tires with some kind of number or ID for different makes of vehicle? God that's a really noob-*** question but I honestly don't know!

I use an Optima Red in the race car, but mainly for the safety aspect of the spill proof design. I would just buy an OEM Mazda one and get a 5year warranty that is good at Mazda dealer as long as you keep your proof of purchase. Our price to you on the battery is $72.00 plus taxes

AT is harder to recover from flooding. Obviously the deflooding you tried to do wasn't working so well since as Al said severely flooded.
