Jus remember... victory laps after a restart... followed by 5 minute driving on the highway between 7000 - 9000 rpm..

Ideally hold it around 90 - 100 kph in 2nd gear.. then you'll be fine...

If no CELs or flashing CEL's then your engine is good again.

ah I forgot it's auto... then go into paddle mode, and cruise around at 6000 rpm.. I believe the redline is 7500 rpm on AUTO?

Yeah its 7500 rpm. I let it idle for awhile last night. Weird starts today though. It took a few cranks on a couple of occasions.

I had my plugs replaced too last month, the car ran fine but the starts were still longer than usual. Had to crank for a few secs before it would start....
Last friday started the car and engine light started to flash, same symptoms as before so had to take it to the dealer..had the coils replaced and now it starts right away...

how many kms on your car again? So yeah weird starts is a sign that you should change your plugs or coils, since you had the plugs done recently then I'm guessing its time for the coils.

and to prolong the life of your plugs and coils, DONT flood the engine...
if you gotta turn the car off b4 it reaches operating temperature, ie move your car out b/c its blocking your buddies car on the driveway, like the others said, rev up to 3k then shut her off right away...if you don't then its GG.....lol

I always wait until it's warmed up and give it a little rev before shutting it off. In this case I had been out driving it for most of the day and parked it...

It sat there for a couple of weeks covered in ice and snow before I tried to start it up and take it to get all cleaned up for winter storage. Just a case of cold weather and lack of use.

Thumper posted something about coils awhile ago...anyone have the link or know what was discussed? I need to get coils I'm pretty sure. Damn thing stalled on me again the other day after SUPER rough idling and major power loss. At what point am I able to say "put a new engine in her under the warranty"???

If any coils, plus and sparks, and still issues. Even then, its a compression test that seals the dal for a new engine, well remanufactured one. Even then make sure the techs fix everything possible, before deeming a new engine replace.

Who fixed the car last time? Why don't you get a dealer to do a full inspect? Check the battery, the ignition, and if all those check out then do the compression test. Give Scborough Mazda a call. Z4's look nice, but they have cues of Crossfire in them. And we all know what the Crossfire was modelled after. Sorry about the issues, be glad you weren't in a situation where your clutch pedal decides to snap on you.

I actually like the Crossfire. The SRT-6 was another I was looking at.
